Cove Cay Golf Club

I have been coming to the Bay Area for the past 8 years.

And I have always found a way to get a round or two in at this little hidden gem .

It's by all means no high end establishment, but the value and challenging experience at this place is what brings me back each year.

Small Greens, Narrow Fairways and Short Holes.

Yet if you blink it will cost you a few shots.

I would recommend this place for any beginner or advance player. Or a Family to play without the pressure that comes with a Larger Course.

I'm a 4 HCP.

I always have played as a single that gets paired with others, by choice. And I haven't played with anyone that I haven't liked up to date.

My Star Rating doesn't reflect my total enjoyment this place brings , As it can be a bit rough from time to time. However, give it a shot. I think just about anyone can enjoy this place.

Slow play, no marshal to hurry things up. Staff super friendly. Greens decent. Not worth the money

A variety of holes to challenge your putting skills

There is so much potential for this course. Challenging and well laid out. All that said I found the course to be poorly maintained. They need to up their game

This is a fun course with a challenging layout and good conditions. The major issue we had with it was pace of play. We played the course two times (Feb 25 and 28) and came very very close to walking off the course both times due to the terrible pace of play. On the 25th, it took 2:50 to play 9 holes. That was miserable. We waited on every hole with backups of three foursomes on some holes. On the 28th, it took 4:45 to play 18 holes. The front took over 2:30. The back side moved better but we still waited to tee off on most holes. There were no rangers on the course and no efforts to warn groups to maintain a reasonable pace of play.

Course was in good shape. Very fast greens. Played 18 holes in 1 hour 45 minutes.

Good course layout with mature trees with fairly tight fairways required accurate drives off tee box. Some tees were quite ragged. fairways and greens were in good condition. A lot of bunkers on course. Sand was very firm and moist, but better on back nine. Some blind shots to maneuver. All-in-all, a fun course to play.

Beautiful golf course, one of the nicest for us so far on our Tampa vacation, we have golfed at 6 courses and the main issue in all of them is tee off times to close together and it takes forever to play 18 holes…fortunately this was not the case here on a Saturday, great staff, great course, loved it…we will be back.
