Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

Decent course

We got there 45 mins early so that we could hit on the range but the range was closed for a lady’s clinic. Would have been nice to be able to save a few spots. The starter sent us out as soon as we got there since another group was late. Normally, that is great but we told him we weren’t ready…he wasn’t having it, he kept pushing us to hit…so we felt a little rushed.

Nothing special….

Arrived to find….SURPRISE!…..a ladies outing was holding our booked tee time back an hour….They claim it was a GolfNow error….it wasn’t. The course management COMPLETELY FORGOT THAT A LADIES OUTING WAS BOOKED……staff was unaware about the outing as well, and had to scramble to get the outing off.

Told the greens rolled a 12….maybe a 10, but not a 12 . Tee boxes need work….flat footing hard to find on many.

3/5 …wouldn’t play again

Great condition!

Course was in great condition. Some of the greens were a bit pockmarked, but that’s due to golfers not fixing their marks. Fairways and tee boxes were almost perfect. Only blemish was the the bunkers. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for anyone in area

Great ocean side course

Amazing rate of play, well designed course, beautiful ocean views on back 9, and great chicken salad sandwich at the turn. Only negative is some tee boxes were a bit beaten up.

Nice course

Haven't played here in years so this was a chance to see if conditions have improved. They definitely have. Fairways were pretty decent, greens were good with a few splotches of weeds on a few greens. It had rained the previous night so the greens were not as fast as usual. Some wet spots on the fairways. Definitely would play again. Price was comprable to the course conditions. Tee boxes need some work but as long as the greens are good and fairways decent, tee boxes are not that important to me.
