About
Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

One of my favorite courses
Overall a great place to play. Good views challenging course. Good greens. Not much more I can ask for the price.
Beautiful course
This course is beautiful and in great shape. Staff was friendly and I loved the challenges that this course presented.
Beautiful golf course!
Have wanted to play this course for years and finally got the opportunity. It’s a beautiful course and it’s well-maintained. I loved the water and trap hazards which challenged me.
Will definitely play here again.
Cove Cay
Redoing tee boxes on front 9--they need it. Most greens were in good shape with a few being spotty. Course was in ok shape overall.
Restaurant wasn't open.

Temporary tee boxes on the front are a little disappointing but rest of the course was very nice
No markers or layout diagrams
There are no ‘vertical’ distance markers and no diagrams of each hole layout at the tee box or on the score card so not a great experience if you are new to the course. We lost several balls and added a few strokes to our game due to unknown water hazards and hidden sand traps on the fairway. Otherwise , a nice course at a reasonable cost.
Really good course. Love the layout. Great water views. Ate at the restaurant as well. Very good overall.
Improving
First thing I noticed was the new carts! Very nice and comfortable. They were redoing the back tees on the front 9 so, the holes were much shorter but no biggie. To me it looks like they’re putting way more money into the place than they had in the past. Comparatively speaking, it was reasonably priced for a holiday weekend morning tee time. Can’t wait to see the place after all the upgrades are finished!
Course Condition
Front Nine tee boxes are under repair and reseeding. Front nine playing shorter.
Water Hazards are very low with the lack of rain.
Regardless a good course and a challenge.
Looking Good
Besides the new carts,the course was in excellent shape.Fairways were in great shape,greens rolled a little slow but fair.Only takeaway,front 9 tee boxes are moved up.I don't know why but still a great rating today.
Semi challenging course for a great price
Decent price and holes to challenge, tee boxes are being renovated so everything is playing shorter. Alright condition but one of the better affordable options around. Had a good time.
