Cove Cay Golf Club

Too expensive for the amount, greens were terrible needed to be replaced.

Cove cay is a great little layout with the last few holes situated right along side Tampa Bay. Just a shame they don’t have the money to keep the course in top notch shape.

Always friendly staff both inside the pro shop and outside around the grounds. I have played this course many times over the last 2 years, this is the roughest I've seen the greens.

The pictures on the internet illustrate the absolute best of 1 hole. not indicative of the entire couse (most holes had burnt chewed up greens)

First let me say whoever is in charge of the website should get a raise! I chose this course because I got an early tee time last minute but was excited because it looked beautiful online. Wow was I wrong!! All the fairways were burnt and greens were burnt and chewed up. Some putts were unplayable because of the green conditions. All the traps were clay. No sand to be found whatsoever. Driving range was a complete joke. Mats looked like they were 20 years old. No beverage cart to be found. Didn’t really care but they claimed they had one. I was the first group off so o can’t comment on pace of play since I controlled it. I hope this review helps someone choose a different course!

Like the layout but lots of spots on the greens bare. Have seen it in better condition! Back a bit better except for last few greens. Sad to me as I find it a fun and challenging layout! People always nice and good place to have after game beer!

A couple of the greens were rough. A few of the traps were hard pan.

The fairways had some grass which is something i had not experienced in my 7 previous rounds in the Clearwater area..The practice green had some dead spots from a fungus or something. Some of the greens on the front nine had the same issue. But that was it. The majority of the greens were fine. Pace of play was good. The starter was very helpful. I'll.play there again soon!

Nice layout. 6100 yards from tips is a little small, but variety of hole layouts kept it challenging. Many greens were in poor condition. Lots of well maintained sand made approach to greens interesting.

I have played this course in years past, and I have been satisfied until this year. The greens definitely took a turn for the worse. Lots of holes had bare spots. Tee boxes were not in good shape. Could it be a COVID19 thing? Maybe, but other courses around the area don't have the same problem. Might try it next year when I come down, but in my mind they are on notice.
