Cove Cay Golf Club is located along the shores of Tampa Bay, offering scenic views and abundant wildlife. Water is a prominent feature on the golf course, coming into play on 12 holes. The course is tight with narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky dogleg holes. In addition to all of the water hazards, there are also deep bunkers lining the greensides. At 6,000 yards, it is not a long course by any means but what it lacks in length it makes up for in shot-making challenges. Thanks to its length though, it can usually be played in under four hours. The layout features a diverse set of hazards that will require the use of every club in your bag. Cove Cay Golf Club's signature hole is the par-5 17th. This dramatic hole runs alongside the bay, making accuracy a necessity in order to reach the small peninsula green.

no grass

the people were so nice and the staff great. fantastic views and layout... but maybe it was the time of year but there were no grass on the tee boxes and a lot of bare spots in the fairways. the greens were ok.

Could be better

Staff and layout as well as views were pretty nice. After talking to several other groups it appears they staggered the tee times 5 minutes apart. We had a foursome and played in just under 6 hrs. Everyone we spoke with had the same complaint and said this happens a lot. Also the greens and fairways lack a lot of grass. We paid 50+ for this course and were disappointed.

Going downhill

Greens and tee boxes are in terrible shape. The location could make this a very nice course, but the conditions of this course are not worth $50. Not a terrible course, but not living up to their potential and there are better quality courses in the area for the price. Course and clubhouse staff are great though.

Don’t play here!

Small layout, tight fairways, dry course. Not worth 35$ to play here! Go to bardmoor or Blair wood CCs

Trust me they are phenomenal!

Course is rundown and range is on a slope. Had to wait 35 minutes past tee time for a cart. Range balls chewed up

Nice Views

We checked an hour early in order to warm up and hit a few balls. After loafing our clubs we went back to pro shop to grab some range balls and the guy in pro shop told me we were on the first tee and needed to go tee off because there was single right behind us...poor management. Course is a nice layout with awesome water views. Rear Tee boxes are short on grass, but fairways were in good shape.

Horrible Pace of Play - Didn’t finish

Decent course except for the fact that once I got to hole 15, a lady seniors league had a shotgun start. There’s was absolutely no one playing behind me for quite a few holes. They put these seniors in front of me. They were insanely slow. I had to quit. What a rip off. Will never play here again and would not recommend anyone taking a chance on it.

This course has lovely views and a nice layout

We were booked as a twosome and were joined up with another duo who were very friendly and nice to play with.

The pro shop is stocked with a great selection of clothing for both men and women, and a really nice restaurant on site overlooking the 9th and 18th holes.

The layout of the course is challenging but manageable, and women get a break from the front tees.

One suggestion is it would be nice to have an overhead view of the holes on the tee markers or card.

Staff was friendly and helpful, and the course has many beautiful views of the bay.
