First time there
Always a little envoy at a new course but turned out well we were a twosome but got paired up which I'm not a fan of. It was busy and that seems to be the way it is at most courses

Staff was on the job! Professional. Helpful. Responsive.
The course was playable. The drought was reflected in the fairways yet not hard pan. Greens were in good shape. There should be more reminders to golfers to repair their ball marks on the greens. The water cart is always timely and the driver is always very courteous. The value is SUPER! I love National City Golf Course. It allows me to date my wife and play golf at the same time.
best golf for your buck
You can't beat playing golf for 6 bucks ☆ their range could use a little maintenance but overall its a good golf course for beginners intermediate and advance golfers the green could use a little bit of slope like the 1st hole and 7th holes
Good course
Great small course to practice your short game and chalange you on the greens to make birdies
great bang for the buck
Look, if your warming for Bandon Dunes, this is not your track. If you are looking for a good place to hit a few balls to a decent putting surface, you're in luck. I've been playing here for years. For barely more than the price of a bucket of balls, you can actually play for a while. Enjoy.
Hidden Jewel
This course is well taken care of. The fairways are nice and the course can be a challenge. You can use all the clubs in your bag to practice for a bigger course.
Great public access in San Diego
National City is a fairly typical municipal course - only fair condition and challenge, shortish, nothing special in layout or design, a useful place to keep your game in shape, particularly the middle and shorter irons. However, it's great advantages are that it's so accessible within San Diego and the price is right - making it a great starter for the beginner golfer but still useful for the average duffer who has a little time to spend at a favorite game.
Good Course to take the Kids out to.
Had a good time playing with my grandson on this course. Less than 2 hours for this executive course.
fun short
National City is a fun challenge course for the size my only complaint of this course is the Tee boxes are uneven at most of the wholes if that was fixed I think this course could be one of the top nine hole courses that we have locally
For everybody
Great course for beginners and a good course to sharpen your game.
Pretty much what I expected.
Everything was okay and about what I expected, just rather slow.
Learn and/or practice
As a novice golfer, it is refreshing to have a course where the other golfers are understanding. The pace of play was perfect and four of us walked the nine holes in just shy of 2 1/2 hours. My group enjoyed it and with all of us rather new to the game, it was perfect.
This is good for a beginner.
The tee boxes need to be better groomed and The course needs better care of the sand traps very hard sand.
Played 9 holes for $8 Great Value!
Quite, small well maintained greens, no pressure to hurry. Some narrow fairways make it challenging. I will play there again.
Great $12 "9"-Hole Course
Unless you feel like you need to use your driver to be on a real golf course, I think you would enjoy the variety of holes this executive layout has to offer. Oh, the 2nd hole is a par 5, so you can use that driver once for sure! Greens are the best feature of this course, smallish in size, but that's what small courses do to challenge your short game. At $12 per round, National City GC is a excellent value. It is walkable, but they have elec.carts available. SnackBar was clean and Golf Shop adequately equipped.
A couple of par 5s on a par 3 course. Good practice.
Its an Executive Course. Plays fairly quickly. Could be a bit more challenging but does offer a few tough shots. Long holes allow the driver to come out of the bag which always a welcome challenge when playing through some par 3s. The course was dry when I went in May. Flatter than the other par 3 courses in town at a similar price. If you want far more challenging terrain, go to Sun Valley 15 minutes away. If you want better playing surfaces for cheap, go to Sail Ho, also about 15 minutes away.
The best practice course in SD....
This is a nine hole track that max's out at a 34 par.
It does allow you to utilize all of your clubs and it's very easy to get a tee time. The price is excellent and a $10 replay (to get 18 in) includes lunch.
We play this course regularly.
Enjoyable course
We played 9 holes on a Saturday afternoon in 2 hours with minimal delays. The reservations were made on line earlier the same day at a 50% discount. There were no problems at check in...we got right on the course. There are 2 3 par holes, the remaining were 4 and 5 pars. Enough to be challenging but not overwhelming for casual golfers. Golf Now add a small online fee.
This course is in pretty good shape
Haven't played here in awhile and I was impressed by the condition of the course, especially the greens.
