Ballamor Golf Club
About
The18-hole track at Ballamor Golf Club is renowned for its usage of the naturally hilly course in its layout. Brian Ault, the designer, utilized the natural terrain and thick forestry and also added subtle modern and traditional touches to create a unique golfing experience.
The golf course doesn't feature any "signature" hole, but each hole is different from the others and they employ the use of almost every type of golf shot. As a composition, the 18 holes create a course that is both challenging and fun. The course also has five sets of tee boxes. Another distinguishing characteristic of the course is its "go out and stay out" philosophy and layout. The golfer starts near the Clubhouse but doesn't end until the 18th green. This allows for a faster game and there is also a halfway house for refreshments.

Looking at the 18th green Photo submitted by Jeffrey6275494 on 09/12/2013
Great layout
Wonderful experience in December! The course was in terrific shape and the layout proves to be both spectacular to look at and challenging to play. Well worth the drive south!!
over rated
Nice Course, Interesting layout, Conditions were just ok. I think for what they charge it should be in better condition and the greens are a little slow. I guess I was expecting better condition for the rep this place had. I would rather play some of the other shore cources as the conditions and prices are better at those places.
Different!
We (girlfriend and myself) enjoyed the course. Layout was really nice. Some forced carries which could be difficult because being a first time on this course. It would help if they had better routing when moving from hole to the next hole. Got turned around twice because they did not have good directional signs! Enjoyed the course very much!
Great Course
I am an Associate member which gives me a locker here and privileges at Atlantic City Country Club and Scotland Run Country Club. I prefer this course for its wide fairways and large greens. The course has numerous bunkers and water hazards to challenge the player. The driving range and practice green are good. The clubhouse is relatively small but adequate for the size of this club.
Cloudy day makes 4 good golf
William and Rick put it in the middle of the fairway every time
Carts were short of
Havana sandwich was awesome
Enjoyed course very scenic
Lots of ball marks on the greens
Whats It really Worth
I decided to treat myself to a early birthday present. I arrived at course......where was the bag drop gentleman? When he did arrive he informed me where the Pro shop was since I had to ask being the first time there. Once on course the Strawberry flies were Very bad. You would have thought the course attendant would have said something and given you some spray. The course much like others in area was burnt in places and tee boxes were in rough shape. I am glad I got the Hot Deal of the Day, because in my mind it is NOT a 100.00 course at this time of the year. Sorry Ballamor......You dont live up to the Talk the course gets.
Heat took its toll
This course really seemed to have took a beating from the recent heat. Lots of areas were very brown, but the course was still very playable. Can't wait to come back next year and play in late spring/early summer when conditions are emmaculate.

Hot day but course was in good shape. Just look out for the flies.
Shorely a great bet
A great course, good challenge, good condition, a great bet if you are coming to OCNJ or nearby points.
Overrated
Just returned from our annual golf trip to AC and had never played Ballamor before. It came highly recommended from numerous people. Definitely let down by the layout and quality of the course for the money. After playing Atlantic City Country Club and Seaview this course was a complete let down. We got paired with two stoned/drunk college kids who were both beginners. The ranger rolled up on us after 3 holes and complained that we were holding up the pace of play. He then followed us for 2 more holes and stood there while we hit our tee balls. Very rude and not welcoming at all when paying that kind of money. Or just plain don't pair up beginners with advanced golfers. The front 9 reminded me of a pretty good municipal course, but the back 9 was definitely nicer. We won't return to Ballamor on our next AC golf trip and will instead spend our money on amazing courses like Atlantic City Country Club and the Seaview Courses.
Great track!
Booked time at course never played and really surprised with Ballamor. Definitely will be back! Besides a great course and layout - try the "pub club" sandwich after your 18!
Must play
Challenges on every hole, the course is in great condition
very impressed
I've played golf all over the country at some of the finest and most challenging courses. I played for the first time at Ballamor today and this course takes no backseat to any championship level course that I've played.. I came away thoroughly impressed by the difficulty and challenge along with the course conditions.
The greens are firm, fast, huge and are as undulating as you'll find. There are few ball marks in the greens which is rare to find. We played the next to the back blue tees today and the front nine played mostly into the wind. On the front 9, I routinely used long irons and my rescue for approach shots and I hit a pretty long ball. Every green complex is elevated and well bunkered forcing you to use an extra club or two in distance. The pin placements on this day were in very difficult spots and not friendly to the average player. You can 3 putt half the greens here so you really need your A game when using the short stick.
You can get pretty good roll in the fairways if you hit the proper trajectory.
Almost every hole is framed by towering pines and the fairways are pretty generous in width. The turf is mowed low and you'll find a lot of tight lies so it really forces you to hit it real solid.
The par 3's are very strong as are the par 5's. I can see why others praise the par 5 18th hole with sand everywhere and water bordering the whole right side of the fairway.
If you can break 80 legitimately from the blue tees here, you are an outstanding player. If you break 80 from the championship tees, you are not only a star but someone who can routinely hit 300 yd drives and 200 yd accurate uphill iron shots . If you like testing yourself against a true challenge, Ballamor will give you all you want.
Burnt Gem
I love playing Ballamor. It is a top 5 track in South Jersey, for sure. Unfortunately, the weather has taken it's toll on this beauty. No matter how often the maintenance team irrigates the complex, it will never be able to battle the 90+ degree temps and the lack of rain. No course can. Besides the fact that it was losing it's lush, green characteristics, it is always a fun play. Expect a challenge no matter what tee you play from. Bunkers are arranged to stifle the greatest of amateur players. Do yourself a favor and take in the closing hole. Number 18 is one of the best finishing holes in the state!
My favorite public New Jersey course
I am trying to play as many top NJ and Pa courses as possible. This was my first of the shore courses and I hope the others are in the same category as this one. Right now I rank this above Ballyowen, Wild Turkey, Heron Glen, Neshanic, & Mercer Oaks East.
Played 0600hrs as a solo. I was the first vehicle in the lot so I had the course to myself.
Staff was friendly with a nice driving range.
The fairways are wide and if you yank one into the trees they are thin enough where you can recover. I found several bunkers, as I am a big proponent of bunker to bunker golf, and they were full of sand and in great shape.
The greens were immaculate, fast, and challenging with several two tiered greens.
The only problem I had on this course were the bugs. They drove me nuts for about 5 holes and they were gone after that.
I don't think you could walk this course due to long distances between several holes.
There are no houses along this course and the only sign of the outside world is a road through the trees on a hole or two.
I can't say enough good things about this course. I am looking forward to playing its sister course, Scotland Run.
Great course, but pace of play was brutal
For $109, you would expect a better pace of play. We didn't see one ranger moving groups along and it resulted in a 5 hour plus round. Granted- the course is beautiful and the staff is very friendly.
Awesome Track!
Ballamor is one of my favorite courses! It is in impeccable shape. The greens roll true and pin placements are fair. The rough is cut evenly and is not terribly penalizing if you get in it.We got a great deal with GolfNow and look forward to playing this course again. The staff was very friendly and helpful also.
Best
Everything I expected, great condition. This course has country club conditions. Expensive but worth it. They all are anyway but ballamor you get your money's worth. Greens roll so nice...I'll be back
Great Golf
Ballamore is allways a great place to play
the green are still slower than normal but still better than most. Very large green complex's
Quality Layout
This once private course, now part of a trio of courses under one umbrella with Atlantic City CC and Scotland Run, is well worth a try. Whether you are in the area or want to take a road trip you will not leave unhappy with the facility.
There are no similar holes and the various tees are set up for any level player. While it is not a course for a new or beginner golfer, most of the course is playable from the right set of tees.
It's hard to pick a part of the course or a particular hole so I will just say that the 18th hole may make you want a do over on it whether you par or birdie it or other.
