Ballamor Golf Club
About
The18-hole track at Ballamor Golf Club is renowned for its usage of the naturally hilly course in its layout. Brian Ault, the designer, utilized the natural terrain and thick forestry and also added subtle modern and traditional touches to create a unique golfing experience.
The golf course doesn't feature any "signature" hole, but each hole is different from the others and they employ the use of almost every type of golf shot. As a composition, the 18 holes create a course that is both challenging and fun. The course also has five sets of tee boxes. Another distinguishing characteristic of the course is its "go out and stay out" philosophy and layout. The golfer starts near the Clubhouse but doesn't end until the 18th green. This allows for a faster game and there is also a halfway house for refreshments.

I liked the course
This course is one of my favorites , I would like to play it more often.
ballamor near atlantic city NJ
Every hole was "a private course unto itself". Staff and local golfers/members were very friendly & helpful. No homes and/or roads bordering the course. A very private and serene, but "interestingly challenging" golfing experience. Course was in great condition with well manicured & maintained tees, fairways (with some elevation changes), good bunkers, & undulating but true greens. Probably not a good "walkers course" due to some long distances between greens and next tee box, but this layout made one feel that "you had the course to yourself". An excellent golfing venue for someone visiting the nearby NJ Shore towns and/or Atlantic City. Good pace of play (less than 4 hours).
Great Course
Great course, great staff, nice looking course, had a great day.
Best course I ever played
I went to A.C with 2 of my and play last day of my trip. The course is 20min from where I am staying. The course was aeration few weeks ago so green was little bit in bad shape. Still, overall conditional of golf course in great shape. Also the detail of golf course is top. I really enjoyed.
Tough Greens
It rained so it was cart path only and path FAR from fairway. in good weather could be a great course. Greens had alot of ungelation no flat putts. Very nice layout , most holes out in front of you. Only thing that could be a problem was a few of the hole when leaving greens on cart path you go back toward fairway an arrent approach shot by group behind coul be dangerous. Would like to play on a good weather day to really appreciate how nice the course really is.
Failure to communicate
After discussing how the greens at another course had been needle punched, the Pro Shop failed to inform me that holes on the back nine were being core aerated that day. How unsettling to be on 9 and making the turn than to hear the thump, thump, thump of a core aerator and find a fairway full of cores, same on 11, and 13. Pretty disappointing for a $84 round of golf.
Ballamor Review
First time I played the course and would HIGHLY recommend. Many different types of holes, doglegs, fairway bunkers, water, undulating greens. It has it all. 18th hole is a par 5 with water down the right side and bunkers in play all the way down. Big fan of this course. 19th hole was modern, staff was friendly. Worth the trip.
The finest choice for golf in the AC area
This course was all I expected, and matched what I've heard. Great Staff, exceptional conditions, and pace was excellent for a Thursday morning. Greens rolled true. Fairways and tee boxes were in great shape. This is my new go to course in Atlantic City.
Very enjoyable course
Played on the early morning and found the course in great conditions. From the blu tees the course is a lot of fun even though not particularly difficult, especially if hitting good drives (Twisted Dunes much more difficult). Staff very nice and overall a very nice golf round. Definitely worth visiting if in the area.
Great round
A little pricey for a weekday but very well maintained course. White tees were not overly challenging. Would definitely play again but for the price I would rather play a course I haven't played before.
Wonderful Day
Course more than met my expectations. Fairways were immaculate as we're the spacious greens. Very little rough but difficult greens create more than fair test.
great layout for ac area
Nice elevation changes, well manicured fast greens. For 60.00 on golf now a great deal.
A must play
Short and sweet, this is a beautiful course that must be played by all.
Course was in excellent shape!
Round
The course was in good shape. I went out as a single and was paired with another single and a twosome. Pace of play was great we were pacing at 4 hours and the ranger got on us for slow play which made no sense. Beautiful weather, practice tee boxes need some work though.
One of top shore public courses
A public course that is maintained as if were still private. Challenging but fair with the placement of bunkers and occasional water. Play from appropriate set of tees and the weekend golfer will definitely be able to enjoy the round.
Private feel on a public track
You can tell this course was once private. I enjoyed the design and was pleasantly surprised by the condition...especially the greens. I think they were among the nicest public greens I have ever played. I need a few more rounds to really get the hang of them...very enjoyable. The pace of play was brutal though. This was the second time I have played here, once on a weekday and once on a Saturday and they were both painfully slow....they need to put an extra five minutes between the groups.
One of the best near A.C.
Ballamor is a short ride from nearby Atlantic City and if your in the area its a must play. The course is always in great shape, lush fairways, groomed bunkers, and fast greens. Pick your tee wisely because from the back its a real bear!!
I'll be back!!!
Ballamor is a beautiful course with a friendly staff. We played the course on vacation (Summer 2014) expecting high green fees, a mediocre facility/ course, and painfully slow play. When we showed up our bags were taken from our car and placed on our cart while we paid. Upon heading to the started he inquired whether we had played the course, offering sound advice and tips on playing some of the more difficult holes. The ranger came through during our round and asked about our round and if we needed anything. After completing our round we headed in to the clubhouse for a much needed beverage, and the stag was again courteous, professional and interested in our round and the course. The conditions were excellent, the greens quick but true and the layout was really cool. Reminded me of golf resorts like Pinehurst #8, without the cost. Thanks to Ballamor for a great round with plenty of scoring opportunities. From our family to theirs... We'll be back!!
Spacious and fair
Considering I played on a Monday after a busy weekend, conditions were quite good. Sand traps were not groomed but considering placement, size and traffic, I am not surprised. This is a nice track. Reminds me if nearby Hidden Creek. Love the layout and buffer areas so you don 't feel crowded.
WOW
Difficult but beautiful course. A must play.
Lots of traps. Tough greens.
Overall a gem in the shore area courses
