Ballamor Golf Club
About
The18-hole track at Ballamor Golf Club is renowned for its usage of the naturally hilly course in its layout. Brian Ault, the designer, utilized the natural terrain and thick forestry and also added subtle modern and traditional touches to create a unique golfing experience.
The golf course doesn't feature any "signature" hole, but each hole is different from the others and they employ the use of almost every type of golf shot. As a composition, the 18 holes create a course that is both challenging and fun. The course also has five sets of tee boxes. Another distinguishing characteristic of the course is its "go out and stay out" philosophy and layout. The golfer starts near the Clubhouse but doesn't end until the 18th green. This allows for a faster game and there is also a halfway house for refreshments.

Looking at the 18th green Photo submitted by Jeffrey6275494 on 09/12/2013
March 1, 2014 Frozen Tundra
Played yesterday, it was cold but beautiful out. Great course, can't wait to get back here in the late spring early summer to see how the course conditions are.
Ballamor well worth it
Pricey at full price but excellent layout, fantastic conditions every time,
Conditions superb for December
Extremely satisfied with value for money, conditions. Played in December, conditions were very good. Clean, minimal leaves with fast, smooth greens. Had a great time even though shot like sheet.
nice course
This was the first time playing at Ballamor. Great course had a good time. Only issue I had was the amount of ball marks on the greens. Maybe try giving away divot tools with greens purchase. But I will be back !
Fast undulating greens , wide fairways , excellent conditions.
Drove 1-1/2 hours to play Ballamor and would do again without hesitation. One of the finest public courses in the tri~state area. Not a typical South Jersey course. Pristine conditions in the middle of November is an amazing feat. The course has a reasonable amount of bunkers and some water to negotiate. No real long carries (played from whites) and a few elevated greens and false fronts. Greens were challenging. Each hole unique and both traditional and links style holes encountered throughout with a very nice flow. Played the sister course Scotland Run the week prior and there is absolutely no comparison. Go see for yourself.
Great Course
Played a fall round at the course & found it in absolutely perfect condition. Tee boxes, fairways, rough, bunkers, greens all could not have been in better shape for the time of year. Plenty of great driving holes and some very tricky greens. A challenging course that i will definitely play again.
very nice golf course
some challenging holes course in great shape for this time of year will gladly return for revenge
Great value on Hot Deal
Got a late tee time and glad the pace of play was regulated by rangers so we finished before dark. Course was well maintained and all leaves were blown off course. Greens are very large, but don't be fooled the undulations and speed made them quite tricky.
Great value on a hot deal.
Fun course to play
The layout is great ! Holes are laid out in in groups away from one another . Lot of sand!
I really like this course
I really like this course, but only play it wen I can get a discount rate >$50. Greens are true & challenging. Fairways and eye appeal are great. Lots of traps. If you play the white tees, most fairway traps are not an issue. Move back to longer tees, and they are risky. Good terrian changes for an Egg Harbor course.
great course
One of the best courses we have played in NJ, you can play different lengths, greens are big but fast. Fairways are wide but there is water and plenty of sand but not too much. Worth the price and the travel
challenging course in great condition
Wide fairways give this course a links style feel, even though they're lined with trees. The most difficult part of this course are the greens. Large, fast, with severe undulations. If you don't get your shot on the correct tier, 3-putt is the most likely result.
Great Course, Great Conditions
I think this is one of the top courses at the Jersey Shore. The course always seems to be in great condition, is well marked for yardages, and the greens roll very true. The staff is very cordial and plenty of respectful marshals kept play moving. This is always on our top lists to play.
very challenging course wilth some very memorable holes.
played in the fall where the leaves have turned and with the bright sunshine made for a great day. the positioning of the sand traps really framed the holes from both the fairways and around the greens. the greens were in great shape and it was a lot of fun to putt them. looking forward to playing gain.
Excellent course for the money
Excellent course conditions along with great staff. Felt like a private club without price tag that goes with it. Do it again if the weather hold up.
Must play for the AC area
Long round due to frost delay and 20mph winds. Great course at a great price. Would love to play this course again in better weather. Scotland Run and Ballamor are great courses!
No way I come back to this course, 5 hrs and still did not finish.
Worse day of golf this year was at Ballamor, the pace of play was horrible. Called the pro shop to inquire what was going on and was told there was nothing they could do about it and that if I wanted to come back and start play on number one hole that would be ok. Thats not a solution to slow play and thats why my money will never grace that place again.
Tne fairways are wide open.
Wide landing areas, rough not high, no long forced carries and most everything is in front of you, not many blind shots. The GREENS are the trick, very fast and not very flat, difficult for the average Joe!!
WOW!!!!!
I was thoroughly impressed! Every aspect was FANTASTIC!
From conditions to the staff. It is on the expensive side unless you can get a deal on Golfnow. I played for free(golfnow rewards), my buddy played for $48.00 while everyone else paid $78.
It was a slow round, but the rangers were doing everything they could to speed it up.
Nice modern course
Nice modern course. Large grass driving range. Very good condition. Nice clubhouse and locker room. Played the last hole in the dark as the pace of play was slower then the 4:22 they make a big deal about on the carts. Rangers did nothing to move the slow group along. A loud outing was a few groups ahead and was disturbing at times. Lower the price, lower the class.
