Course is good and but not maintained well.
Course is good and generally not very difficult. However cart paths, driving range and bunkers are horrendous and not at all maintained well. We played east and heard the hat that may close . So may be that explains it.
Letting it go
Course is in okay condition. They are selling it for development so no money is going in except basic maintenance. The bunkers are packed clay with not a speck of sand.
Needs Some TLC
Sand traps were nothing but mud traps. No marshal seen on the course. . . 18 holes took almost 5 hrs on a Weds!
Played East Course. Great layout however the condition needs some TLC. There were some brown patches on the fairways. Bunkers were not maintained at all. Weeds growing in every one and not sandy at all.
Sad to see the condition
RB - East WAS one of the best public courses in New Jersey. It is in terrible shape with weeds everywhere, bunkers are just puddles & rocks and bug infested. Stay Away!
I don't know how they get away charging $ 95 for a round. Clubhouse and staff though is very friendly.
West (Private) is still in good shape.
No traps
All traps had no sand It was dirt and mud. Some traps had weeds growing in them. Rest of course was in great shape Would definitely play this course again. Great track and fairway and greens In great shape. Just have tp play traps as ground under repair.
Fair
Bunkers appear to be untouched all year. Filled with casual water, weeds off all sorts, grass, rocks ECT. Only thing missing was sand. Tee boxes a little bear up as well. Fairways had considerable fungus. On three plus side greens rolled well. Heard they were selling 18 holes too a developer.
Do Not book tee time here
The driving range was terrible. The bunkers were full of water and grass. I lost a ball 2x in the deep water in a bunker .The fairways were spotty at best. The greens are a mess. The tee boxes were a mess. Trash cans on the course were overflowing. The cart paths are buckled with roots and potholes.
You cannot play a competitive round here. I can only assume that this course is closing very soon.
Paid full price without a warning of any kind.
The ladies inside were very pleasant at check in.
Good course needs some refinement
RB East (there is a private 18 holes)is a good daily fee course. I like the back 9 over the front 9.
My only issue with the course is the state of the bunkers. They need work. The course Mgmt also needs to police players when they disregard raking the bunkers after use. Too many lazy golfers do not show etiquette and rake the traps for the next group. There are plenty of rakes!
This course looks abandoned. Sad. Don’t book.
The bunkers are full of grass and water so deep that balls get lost. The tees are a mess. The fairways are fillip of bare spots, disease mold and rot. It was a decent course that is in decline and almost abandoned. No starter.
The paths were full of large bumps and potholes.
The guys loaded my bag onto a cart with 2 carts in front and 2 behind it. I was locked in. When I inquired, they moved 2 carts. Asleep at the switch.
They charged full price.
The ladies inside were very nice but clearly told not to warn you when you check in.
Overpriced
For $95 you think they could weed the bunkers, they were unplayable.
THE DIRT TRAPS ON THE EAST WERE HORRIBLE
ALL I CAN SAY IS PLEASE SPEND SOME MONEY AND FILL UP THE DIRT TRAPS WITH SOME REAL SAND AND PUT IN SOME BALL CLEANERS AND WATER CONTAINERS. IT'S LIKE A DESERT OUT THERE IN THE SUMMER AND THERE IS NO WATER AT ANY OF THE HOLES. I DID SEE ONE OF THOSE BARREL HOLDERS FOR WATER BUT IT WAS EMPTY. YOU'D BETTER BRING SOME IF YOU PLAN ON PLAYING HERE. THIS PLACE NEEDS SOME TLC. YOU GOTTA SPEND MONEY TO MAKE MONEY.
SAND (DIRT TRAPS) ARE HORRIBLE
The sand traps were all full of water so the irrigation was horrible. It really doesn't even look like sand. It looks like dirt. Is it that expensive to drop one truckload of nice white sand in each sand trap to spice them up a bit? Sand is cheap. We have it down the entire coast and it looks like much better sand. Enough of the sand or whatever it is. The course on the East was fine. The greens and everything else were nice. Of course I would play there again but I'll just have to focus more on staying out of the dirt traps
