Course with long storied history, with great potential. Very kind staff. Course needs a lot of work to improve greens and fairways. Still enjoy coming here to play

First time back after many years and the course is in terrible shape. Greens and bunkers were ok but that is it. Tee boxes are a mess and the fairways are pretty beat up. Layout is not bad but this place certainly needs a lot of TLC.

On most south Florida courses the staff is annoying pushing faster play. On this course its the opposite . If you want faster play you must get a ranger. Especially in the morning. The course is in terrible shape its Florida you have sun just freakin water the fairways greens and tee boxes tur the rest into waste bunkers if you are to lazy to maintain,

The course layout is very good and challenging for someone with an 18 handicap from the green tees. Course condition is disappointing for such a great layout, but the price compensates for it. More of an effort to improve fairways and bunkers and greens would promote a price increase to pay for improvements and increase play. The staff and 19th hole are the real pluses.

What a dump! Run down course in horrible shape, slow greens and the fairways are full of weeds. The layout is good but this place needs a major renovation, stay away’!

It's a shame how this course has been let go. Used to have corporate leagues here. Lakeview better value, even though it's a par 3.

I play DBGC every week and have been doing so for 7 years. The course condition currently is not great for sure. I play here because I enjoy the men's group that plays weekly. The staff generally are nice and accommodating. The greens are in decent shape however there is significant influence from the two types of grass on the greens. The fairways.... better than it has been in the past but still not really good. the biggest complaint is off the fairways, which is just awful. Basically, ball rests on the sandy base from the property which is one big sandy waste area.

Playing there every week for a long time, my golfing buddies and I often wonder why the City of Delray Beach allows such a dismal representation of this city. Delray is one of the best tourist attractions in the US, and this course, which could be very nice, is just pathetic. There was talk about injecting 8mil into the course to bring it up to standards... but it was just talk and no action. The county courses for PB are very nice so it is possible to make a nice course. And this site is very well positioned being quite near downtown Delray. It could be a nice course, but it's not and apparently won't be under the current leadership.

I give this course 2 stars due to the staff and the location, but the course condition is depressing to see in South Florida.

Played there a few times, under duress! Have heard for years things are going to improve and nothing changes. It’s a tragedy the city of Delray does not take care, even just some improvement each year, of what could be a signature course for Delray. Shameful!

the course itself is as hard as you want to make it depending on which set of tees you play. It's not particularly well maintained, but playable and the greens are slow, but given the typical slopes of the greens that's not a bad thing for most of us. traps not well maintained, but again that can be helpful. The layout is great, good mixture of 3s and 5s and dog legs and straight.. water not penal but in play.. plays at sea level so the ball doesn't go anywhere adding to the length. Pace of play is actually pretty good for public course and as it is flat walking it pleasant. I am a single and always joined to a group and never had an unpleasant experience. You can buy balls and gloves and hats if you've forgotten them. not much in the way of food and drink but again playable. If the city had the money to maintain it this would be a championship course.

This is a Donald Ross designed course. It should be on an historic register. The layout, thanks to Ross, is good. It can be enjoyable to play. The problem is the maintenance or lack thereof. Fairways are horrible. Maintenance is on-the-cheap. If the City funds it, they are not spending enough. If it is contracted, the contractor is maximizing profits by not maintaining the course. There really is no excuse. After playing a round the manager sends an email asking for comments. To respond you must open a Google email account or be on Facebook.

Quality layout. Pace of play ok for muni.

Better conditions than I remembered from last year, good pace, friendly staff but some greens where not the best.

Great layout MrRoss. The placement of the bunkers with their yawning lips is classic. Under appreciated since this muni is neglected by the city of Delray.Too bad cause this jewel should sparkle. Don’t hesitate to give this track a try.
