Delray Beach Golf Club
About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

Course was in better condition than last time we played
Terrible greens
No point to play a course if you can’t even put. There are literal chunks missing from all the greens and the grass is long where it isn’t sand and ditches. The grass on the greens are far and few between. Not even worth putting.
Disappointed
My wife and I have played Delray Beach Golf club several times in the summer. It's usually a good experience. However, this time the greens, especially on the first 9, were terrible. The staff is always friendly and the course is almost always very playable, but today the greens were awful.
Delray Beach Municiple
Played here today for the 1st time in about a year. The conditions on this course have been exceptionally bad for a long time. Really a shame because it a really beautiful course with an exceptional Donald Ross layout. The City needs to invest some money in the course and bring it back to its former beauty. So much opportunity here but not much being done to improve the conditions. Hope to see some investment and improvements in the future. This course has a lot of potential!!
So much potential
City of Delray is sleeping. This course should be mobbed and it’s an absolute dump. There aren’t any markers for what hole you’re on or going to. Leave your putter in the car, you’re better off kicking the ball towards the hole than trying to putt it. It’s a disgrace that the city allows this potential gem to be in such poor shape. Especially when the staff there were really great and friendly.
Could be so much better
greens, tee boxes, fairways, in rough condition. holes arent marked for like the first 6 holes. The place has so much potential and was disappopinted in the conditions.
Needs to be dynamited.
I’ve played here 100 plus times. Delray Beach is an amazing town but the politicians have run this Golf Course into the ground with zero maintenance. Shame on you City Hall! This is a Donald Ross design gone awful bad.
Lots of sand & rough greens in Summer ...
Fun course - friendly staff - reasonable prices - lots of sand - and horrible greens... Be prepared to watch your ball jump and bounce over dead patches ... Had a great time but the score card suffered a bit...
Bad
Extremely poor condition. Fairways and rough bare in too many spots, greens were the worst if played on in Florida. It’s like they don’t care anymore.
Won’t be back!
Dumpster fire
Clearly the staff has given up on maintaining this course
An awful course
Fairways were unkept and greens were mostly gravel. I will never play the course again and will definitely not recommend it to others. The course rating provided on GN was misleading at best.
Maintenance
As always staff is friendly and helpful. The greens need total replacement, impossible to get a straight put.
I live in DelRay and feel money should be spent on making this a desirable golf course. I play most of the courses in palm beach county, this is the worse.
Great Potential
I have played this course many times, because it is conveniently located nearby. I like the layout of the course, part of it was designed by Donald Ross. The most significant point of the DB Municipal course is that the conditions haven’t changed for years.
I don’t really know why, it’s been neglected for years. It’s is suggested that the city of Delray Beach can’t or won’t invest the necessary funds for refurbishing the whole course, at great expense for sure. That project would take a commitment from local government that has not to date found reasonable support. So it stays as a diamond very much in the rough.
