Delray Beach Golf Club
About
Delray Beach Golf Club is the championship sister course to the executive Lakeview Golf Club, which is located less than a mile away. It is also less than three miles from downtown Delray Beach. Opened in 1926, Donald Ross designed the layout and over the years, touring professionals on their way to Miami have made it a habit to stop and play the classic design. Its still-growing popularity is a testament to the quality of the round. It provides a quick round that can be played in just over 4 hours but it still offers enough challenges for low handicappers. There is very little water coming into play but with the strategic bunkering that is abundant throughout the course, water features will hardly be missed. The club also has a reputation for being one of the most well maintained public courses in the area as well.

this course is in horrible shape..There isn't one puttable green on this course.. I cannot believe that the town of DelRay allows this course to be open for public play in this condition..
Sad to See What’s Happening to this Course
Greens can really be called greens anymore, just an area with short grass, weeds, and dirt. Blah fairways.
Great staff trying to make up for the mess the City has let this course become. Hats off to the team that keeps it functioning and takes great care of golfers. Tip them well!
On the bright side this is a decent place to work on your swing, and fun for beginners. Lowest green fees in the area helps keep it busy.
Great Surprise for a Day
Much better than expected. Great staff. Course needs some work but very playable. Can't wait to go again.
Rough
Cheap place to play and fun for us just breaking 100 players. Early Monday & Wednesday is the grumpy old men league. Fairways and some greens are beat.
Course has seen MUCH better days
Comparing the quality now to just a couple of years ago is almost like night and day. Still a good track, but the course quality has slowly gotten worse. My 2 stars literally mean “fair” for a $33 18 hole round of golf in SoFlo. Not complaining as this used to be my go to course. I hope it gets better before it gets any worse.
Greens?!?
The greens are a complete wreck. No other word to describe them please replace or close course.
Needs care!
Would categorize as a good practice course to get your swing going. The course conditions are not to be desired. Poor maintenance of grass, greens are bare with spikes of grass affecting putting and most tee decks are hitting of regular grass. Felt like playing in a public park.
Spend some money DELRAY
The City of Delray needs to spend some money and upgrade this golf course. Most all the greens need to be redone . Fairways aren’t too bad but need some help . The cost to play is very reasonable but I also think people would pay more if the course was better .
A Gem in the Very Rough
Delray Beach is missing out by allowing it's municipal golf course to deteriorate to a condition level so poor as to make the playing no fun. Greens have little grass and many bare patches. Fairways and tees are choked with weeds. Sand traps are, curiously, good, and well maintained. Staff is friendly and helpful under the circumstances.
Layout is fine, old school , flat Florida course which does not need redesign or remodel, but course should be shut down 9 holes at a time and reseeded or resodded then properly maintained in the future.
Amazing Donald Ross layout
Course will continue to be in poor condition until their $20 million rework. Greens are in super rough shape. They have the money and plans for the rework, it is just a matter of when.
Great Donald Ross layout! Worth your time and money to get out there.
Course needs work
The staff at Delray Is excellent- very nice and friendly. The course needs a lot of TLC though - the greens and tee boxes are being worked on but progress appears to be very slow. Because of the conditions most likely, the course was not crowded and we played our round in under three hours. I hope they can get the course in better shape soon.
Greens in rough condition
Not sure if summer time or if diseased but the greens need some love. Grass was either non existent or how the fairway should be. Lots of weeds and craters as well. Hopefully the course gets some love since it’s a convenient and cheap place to play.
Okay course
Nice course for women, wide open, not so.much water, but the greens were in terrible condition , patched up and slow.. For summer prices, okay, but in the season maybe better courses out there.
