Excellent Expericne
We played on a reciprocal through our club in AZ. Course was in very good shape,.Kirk is outside service was excellent. Pace of play was excellent.3 hr 25 min. Greens were excellent, fairways were outstanding. The Members have pride in their course, fairway divots were filled, ball marks repaired on the greens. We will play again.. We could not understand why the pro shop was closed at 1:00 PM the day we played.
Palm Valley
Rode the Whites (6191/70.0/123) in a charity Tournament. Fun event with catered food/drinks on every tee box and the course closed except for the tournament. POP brutal @ 5.5H.
Ted Robinson design. Up/down rolling hills, hundreds of tall palms but not overly tight. Resort type layout with a decent amount of water and small greens. Fun track even if no specific hole was memorable.
Tees were lush and well maintained for divots.
Fairways lush and very nice to play from.
Rough was penal. Thick and deep enough that several balls in our group were lost just off fairways.
Traps had thick sand and were okay to play from.
Greens were firm and putted medium speed. Smooth with few ball marks.
No GPS on the basic carts. Large, well stocked clubhouse. Complementary waters in the cart and range balls on the all grass range was a plus. Customer service was excellent from everyone. Overall, decent layout where every hole is surrounded by well kept, middle class homes or condos. Recommended.
Palm Valley C.C.
Played in a charity Scramble Tournament. Fun event, even with everyone playing the little dawg tees the POP was brutal @ 5.5H. However, with catered food/drinks on every tee box and the course closed except for the tournament, few cared.
The layout reminds me of a combination of the two Marriott courses, ironically the Palm and the Valley just down the street. Considering Ted Robinson did all three, not a shock. Up/down rolling hills, hundreds of tall palms and lots of water but not overly tight. Fun track even if no specific hole was memorable.
Bermuda tees were well maintained and lush.
Bermuda fairways very nice, good coverage.
Bermuda rough maintained low but still thick Bermuda.
Was not in any sand traps but they looked good.
Bermuda greens looked good and even though firm, putted medium slow. Seemed like they had been recently top dressed, with incoming irons sand would fly up.
