The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

1st hole Photo submitted by kobeguy2 on 11/17/2012
Always fun
Had a great round. Play there monthly with a friend as it is equi-distance for us. Great shape. Greens had been aerated but were still in decent shape. The rough can be pretty thick but it was manageable this weekend. Pace of play was a bit slow but it could have been the two people we were paired with. They have a great layout and plenty of putting, driving, and sand practice areas. There is a nice grill set up at the turn for great burgers and dogs. Staff is always very friendly.
to long
I am 81 and its to long from the blue tees to really enjoy golf. The par 4s are long to begin with. Am I suppose to tee off from the red tees. If I play there again I will go from the red tees
architect sunny day 5/9/2015
super day and played well enough for late 18 hole finish greens were good and fairways cut
Great course
played 18 in 3.5 hours on a Thursday. Tee boxes were spongy which was different but good. Fairways played fair. Greens had been aerated this spring and have not totally grown back in but did not affect the roll of ball. We saw rangers every 3-4 holes. Saw beverage cart at least 4 times.
Top 5 Public Course in NJ
The more I play Architects and other courses in the area, the more I realize just how great this course is! Always in great shape, scenic and of course an awesome layout. One of the very best public courses in NJ and eastern PA.
Beautiful and Interesting
Nice scenic views, very good condition fairways and greens, very interesting hole designs. Pleasure to play. Staff are friendly, food is great. Cost can be very good through GolfNow app but can also be pricey for the last minute golfer. From the tips, plays long enough to be very challenging. Each hole provides options. Greens are not terribly difficult but provide enough challenge for the casual golfer. Rough is fairly easy to get out of.
My one complaint is that the sand is hard and thin, so not many "splash" shots available. Test the hardness first else you're guaranteed to skull it from the club bounce.
Highly recommend - fun course.
Bad tee-time management
Three group in fron of us are 3, 2,3 somes. Why cidi not amke two 4 somes. We have to wait at least 5 minutes for each shot.
Bad course management
Our tee time was 2:42PM, and on 2:42PM there were two groups in front of us waiting at tee box. Pace was very very bad, we spent 4.5 hours on the course and at have to wait evey shot. We waisted at least one hour in waiting. The three group ahead us were 3, 3, 3 somes. Course management is very bad. I tolded the pro shop about thses, looks like they do not care. Will not go back agaiin.
Well worth the price of admission.
Great course. Every hole is it's own adventure. Great for any ability or type of player.
Best course in the area.
You will not find a nicer course in the Lehigh Vally area. It's a bit pricey on weekends but you can find great rates anytime on golf now.
Great Track
Very nice course. Cold day so pretty empty. Fast play. Tough wind. Greens in very good condition.
Architects
polays long - good concept of hole design - however overall course lacks personality - wide oprn in former corn field - no trees or shrubs - needs on more tee box between blue and red for seniors who can't hit the 6100 but are to far for the women's - a bit overpriced in season - would recommend for a one time shot
Awesome layout!
Very Very slow play, cart path only on a nice dry windy day?? People in front were hackers and slowwwwwwww, Ranger asked them to move twice and they didn't respond. 5 hour plus round! Usual a great place with everything great, but not yesderday! Unhappy in PA
Nice course
Good shape for early in the season. Putting greens could have been quicker. Great sand traps. Course is about an hour away from my house but would definatly play it again.
Had a wonderful time
The only thing I could complain about was the starter going on and on about the rules and that this is our only warning. To be honest we all laughed about it as we were driving away. We enjoyed ourselves very much and won't hesitate to drive the hour back there sometime soon.
Worth the Ranking
Architects is ranked in the top 5 for public courses in NJ and it definitely deserved its praise. Although each hole is designed after a famous golf architect, it still flowed nicely and felt like it was its own course. It was definitely worth the trip to play but I don't see myself making the two hour trip to go back. For me I was content playing it once and checking it off the list. Highly recommended though.
Worst greens ever!!!
Drove 90 miles from new york to play this course and the greens were soooo slow!!! Probably running 3 on the stemp meter. Greens looked like fairways!!! Heard that the winter rates were $80 on weekends, so my group drove over 80 minutes to play this course thinking for that rate, it should be in good conditions considering winter weather. The men's tees were all pulled up and the greens were rediculous. Do not play this course during the winter months. Totally not worth it!!!
Course condition and playability are tops
One of the nicest clubs arround. Superbly taken care of. Nice to have a round on the range before playing. Great pro shop with a lot of inventory.
cold golf fun
for this time of year course was in execellent condition. Course is challenging but fair to good play. Lot's of sand, fairly flat, well layed out.
Stunning views, challenging bunkers, forced carries and terrain
I love this course. Its so beautiful in the summer and especially when the seasons change. It's quite challenging. It has wickedly placed bunkers. It forces you to place a very strategic game to be successful. It would be a rough but majestic view days for the average to less then average weekend hacker but I'd recommend it.
