The Architects Golf Club
About
The Architects Golf Club is a unique layout that honors legendary course designers including Donald Ross, A.W. Tillinghast, and Alistair Mackenzie. Each hole is named after a famous designer, beginning with Old Tom Morris. The opening par 5 pays homage to St. Andrews' designer through the use of the existing features as hazards such as the rock wall and the sloping hillside that the green is deftly carved into. One of the most memorable holes is the 13th, another par 5 that will give you a taste of what it's like to play Augusta. This Alistair Mackenzie-inspired hole offers many risks and rewards. Golfers will face fairways bunkers and a pond on the left and then a creek that runs diagonally in front of the triple-tiered green. Position is the key to maneuvering this tough hole.

A Course that should not be missed!
Every golf lover in NJ or Eastern PA should make an effort to play this course. It is beautifully designed and, in my opinion, an uncommon golfing experience. You will love this course.
Bueatiful course
The course conditions were real nice with exception for the greens. They were hard and bumpy.
There was basically no bar or food available at the end of the round. Place was having several parties. A/C didn't work in pro shop and was told it's been out for a month.
I hope they aren't having money issues. $110 is a bit pricing to play here. I don't think they have many members any longer. So it's pretty much a public course now
Great course
Would play again. Difficult from the back tees. Good layout.
A Delight to Play
As other reviewers have mentioned, this course looks and plays extremely well as a whole, even though the concept would seem to suggest that it might be disjointed. It is not. It is open and scenic and really quite beautiful. It is not an easy course, but it is fair. Not too much water. The bunkers are extensive, but well kept with good playable sand. The course is very well maintained. The day I was there the pace of play was quick without feeling rushed. Good practice facilites. The restaurant is new and attractive; the views from the bar and from the patio encompass several holes. Really nice, and although the greens fees are not inexpensive, they are not out of line, either.
Great layout, poor greens
This course is beautiful with a fun and challenging layout, however the greens were in very poor condition. shaggy, bumpy, spotty. Makes no sense given the great weather we've had all summer. I've played about 8 different courses in NJ in the past month and these greens were by far the worst.
This course has potential
Great lay out. Greens were stressed. Perhaps they had recently been aerated. We had a good time but the over all course conditions was average.
Not worth the money
I played this course the last two fridays. I am sorry to say that the course has fallen into disrepair. The greens (except 9 and 18) are in bad shape. Sandy and bald. I was told the course is up for sale which would expain the condition. Small things such as lack of ball washers and towels, and Tee cups on the Tee's just seem to send the message that they dont care.
On the bright side the staff was friendly and the food was good, although no relish for the Hot Dog.
Excellent Conditions
Very challenging course and long. Bunkers very deep and a lot of challenging lies. Greens deceiving. Had a Great day.
Bad Greens
I guess I had heard so much about this course that my expectation were really high. I was really disappointed with the greens, they were by far the worst I have played on this year. They had been aerated but besides that they were ball marks and dry patches all over. I wish Golf Now had a sign that warned us about the greens.
Beautiful layout
Every hole was immaculate, long and challenging par 4's. Bunkering was set up for a PGA tour event. Can't wait to play again
Fun course to play
Hole designs are very interesting. No two holes are alike and you'll use all the clubs in your bag. Nice wide fairways are perfect if you like to bomb it off the tee without worrying about OB. Greens are tough and bunkers are plentiful, but the coursee plays fair. Happy hour prices in the clubhouse bar can't be beat. Looking forward to my next round there.
Wonderfully presented
Great feeling as one plays great holes from great past architects. Greens had recently been aerated but still putted reasonably well. Excellent treatment by all staff. Great test of one's golfing skills.
Overall a really great and enjoyable course
I knew the greens had been aerated 6 days before I played, so I didn't expect greens to be in great shape. However, because I got a good Hot Deal on GolfNow, it was still a very worthwhile round, I think the course itself is very enjoyable and every hole has its own unique challenge. For my rating of this course, I chose "good" instead of "excellent" because of a few lacking refinements: 1) The guys at the bag drop/carts/starter could have been more welcoming, helpful and attentive. They didn't do anything wrong, but they also didn't do anything excellent. 2) Bunkers seemed inconsistent, and a few horrible ones. Bunker on #12 had 1/2" of sand and then just hard dirt (skulled it out of there). 3) Some tee boxes starting to take too much abuse. 4) Lastly, the little details like dried out ball washers, and empty divot fill boxes on the carts just shows some slacking that you wouldn't expect from a course in this price range.
At the end of the day though, I'll still gladly return.
FULL DISCLOSURE
One of my favorite courses - missed out on a Hot Deal, so I paid regular price only to find out after Teeing off that the greens were AERATED. When I spoke to the PRO shop to book my Tee time they did not say a word about the greens being aerated. Its great that they do this and they take care of the course - When they charge you regular prices they need to tell you the greens have been aerated - VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - for a classy course
Great golf course
played last Friday early morning. unfortunately the greens were just aeriated but theyewere decent even in such condition. the layout of the golf course is great. there are many challenging par 4, especially if playing from the back tees. definetly one of the best public golf course in NJ.
I'm playing here tomorrow. Were the greens ok to putt on even though it was just aerated?
Surprise! Recently aerated greens!
Great course and friendly staff. Great deal on golfnow...probably because the greens were recently aerated. Funny no mention of this on golf now or course website. Detracted from an otherwise fine course. After a while it seems like really just one architect's design rather than many.
Nice course to Play
The course was in Good shape, it was a little wet in spots that made it play longer . The greens were fast and puttable . They need to add some sand to some of the bunkers.
Awesome layout
For a $35 hot deal for a course that's usually over $100 to play, it was awesome. The layout is great, the only thing that surprised me was the condition of the course. It was in good condition but I was expecting pristine conditions for a course that's ranked in the top 3 in the state. It gets a lot of play so I can't fault them. Highly reccomend this course.
Only downside was divots on the green. Not a bad "only downside."
Great price on golf now. $35. Would play there everyday if I lived closer.

Greens deceiving? How about bald and sandy.
