Course was in horrible condition
I’ve played here before. This time the course was in horrible condition. Fairways were chopped apart. It didn’t appear that any work is being done to maintain the course. Greens were a bit better but not great. I would not go back and don’t recommend it. Not great value for the fees at all. Sad.
Continued improvement under new ownership
First time playing this year and the faculty continues to improve, from the course conditions to the faculty itself The course is showing some wear from the season, with many divots in the fairway and marketing’s on the greens. The bunkers are being maintained although some are more dirt than sand. The staff is always friendly and the carts look new. My only real negative is the dress code, which apparently anything goes including beat up tee shirts. Why can’t they abide by the collared shirt rule and tuck in shirts? If they aspire to be a high end private/public club vs others (I see the same dress code at Ocean Acres a dump) they should enforce. If I was a member I wouldn’t be happy.
LBI National (Looking Better)
We played this course 2 years ago soon after it was taken over. Unfortunately, the course itself has seen minor improvements with a couple of fairways with divots that look like they haven’t been attended to for quite sometime. Staff, clubhouse, and restaurant were excellent as were the carts. We got paired with another couple that were great fun to golf with and had a great time just enjoying the round. We will certainly return to see how the course continues to improve as time goes on.
LBI Review
Course was well maintained and designed.
I had a great experience and look forward to playing it again!
Excellent value but Needs more yardage markers on course.....
Pretty Much a Top Shelf Course
First time playing. I’m from Chicago and have vacationed in Ocean City for the past 27 years. We have played most of the courses in the Atlantic City region. LBI was fantastic! Greeted with country club young men to help with bags and to get situated. Staff were all very friendly and genuine.
Course is in pristine shape. Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens were lush and true.
Course is challenging! Many undulating fairways made you think about the ways to play many approach shots. Paired up with some other vacationers. We had a fun day. Highly recommended, especially with a Hot Deal!
Good bones but needs guidance
The golf course is the same as it was under C Oaks. Maybe not As good a condition but not bad. The Halfway House was another matter. We stopped and had a turkey ham bacon tomato sandwich. The first bite was a bit fatty. I thought it was the ham. After a second bite and a third bite, I realized they had put raw bacon on my sandwich. As we drove down the 10th fairway, we found other strips of bacon that had been jettisoned by Patrons of the Halfway House. Management has to do a better job in constructing sandwiches. I’m sure the young staff assembled the components as ordered, but we’re neglected to be told the bacon should be cooked. At least I would hope they cook the bacon in the future.
Good Time.
Fun place to play. Always an enjoyable experience.
