Fun winter round
Fun round, winter conditions make the fairways run fast and the greens slow.
Decent winter course
Was not notified that green's had been plugged and sanded. For $90/round, it would've been nice to have known.
Watch out when booking on line. The price stated on line is $60 with cart but when you get there they charge you for a cart...$30 extra dollars. They need to fix the information on golf now.com
Nice Winter round on the Nicklaus course
Played the course for the first time since September. I thought the greens fee for the winter round was extremely reasonable. I had never played it in winter before and while I am grateful I was able to play at all in January, the course was not in typical pronghorn conditions. The greens were very bumpy from aeration, and sandy. Just didn’t not roll like I have come to expect from Pronghorn greens. I do understand that its winter conditions so I would say that has got to be why. The rest of the course was in great shape for winter and the pace of play was fantastic. I actually shot my best score for for the Nicklaus course and had a great time.
Rough shape
I was disappointed at the conditions. They air rated a couple weeks ago and there was no mention. Wish it would have nicer
Beautiful Experience!
Great course with a beautiful and challenging layout.
Pronghorn
This was a nice resort golf course. We did not know when we booked that they had aereated the golf course. The greens were grey with sand. There was no bag drop, drink cart, or snack bar. However, the bar/restaurant was open. The bartender was friendly as well as the person in the pro shop. I think this would have been a fun course to play had it been in good condition. It would have been nice to know before we were on the first green that they had sanded. Too bad Tee Off didn't have a note about it. I would have played another course.
Must play course
Another fantastic round at Pronghorn! The weather was perfect, the course was in phenomenal condition (as it has been every visit). Our twosome was paired with a single, and we were allowed to physically distance while still enjoying the comradery of golf.
From tee box to green, and everything in between - phenomenal care for the course and terrific work by all the grounds crew! We snuck the round in, day before aeriation of the course - will certainly look forward to coming back next year!
5/5, 10/10, 100/100 to all the staff involved with the facility!
Slow play can ruin a good day
Perfect weather, perfect course conditions, but slow play with no course marshal to police it made for a long, and less than enjoyable, day on the course. It was 2.5 hours at the turn and then we were allowed to play through. We had a few holes before we caught up with the next group and followed them in at a reasonable pace. Overall time just over 4.5 hours. The course is beautiful with plenty of variety in the holes. Often it is difficult to tell where the actual edge of the green is as the surrounding grass is often cut very short as well. Pronghorn is expensive by Central Oregon standards. But if you can get a discounted green fee (still expensive!) it can be very worth it.
Best public course in Bend
I played Widgi, Crooked River, Quail Run and Pronghorn on this summer trip. Pronghorn was the best. Gorgeous course design, beautiful terrain. But beware, this course is BRUTAL on mid to high handicaps. If you shoot 85, 100-105 will likely be your score.
Truly great course
Without doubt one of the best courses in the Pacific northwest. Masterpiece of golf course design, perfectly integrated into the high desert landscape. Very tough but very fun,. Demands thoughtful shotmaking and rewards careful course management. Consistently in superb playing condition.
Expensive, needs staff attention!
Too many unattended divots in fairway. No information on hole configuration. No hole numbers on tee boxes and hard to distinguish the color of tee markers (silver, golf rust). Not worth $200 a round!
