Deltona Club
About
The Deltona Club holds the distinction of being ranked as one of the top 20 public golf courses in Florida. The club has roots that date back to the late 1950s. It is a remake of one of the state's earliest planned communities. Bobby Weed redesigned the golf course, improving its aesthetic appeal and giving it more playability. The course sprawls across rolling hills that provide dramatic elevation changes throughout. It is a far cry from the many flat public courses that exist throughout Florida. The natural contours of the terrain helped determine the strategic placement of the numerous bunkers, many of which were added during Weed's renovation. The Deltona Club's parkland layout has an interesting mix of holes with some that even have the feel of a links course.

The course continues to improve. The greens are in excellent shape and the fairways are beginning to grow in. The layout is nice as the holes are unique, unlike some courses where it seems like you are playing the same hole over and over again. The starter/cart attendant is terrific- he always has greeted us at our car with a clean cart and gets us out early if the 1st tee box is open. The pace of play was great - 3:20 and never had to wait on the group ahead of us. For the price deltona is a must play.
back on track
Course is coming back. Need to do some trim work around bunkers and around greens
It’s better than Victoria Hills
I live in West Volusia and there are not many places to play. Out of the places we have on the West side of Volusia I would put Deltona second to DeBary Golf and Country. Victoria used to be the top course but it has gone through some ownership changes and the course condition really has suffered. Deltona is in good condition and that gives it the nod over Victoria at the moment.
needs work
sand traps and waste areas were really in bad shape.
Course is in average condition at best. Greens are fine and consistent. Miss the fairway and the rough is thick and it is difficult to find your ball. At the right price it is worth playing based on the layout and staff.
Course conditions continue to improve. Layout is terrific and the elevation changes are not typical of a course in central Florida. Staff is always nice and welcoming. Greens are consistent and in good shape. Fairways do have a few rough patches but are getting better. For the price, this is a great place to play.
Good, hot day
Conditions have improved very much over the last several months. Greens are very good, fairways nice and rough is rough. We enjoy this course and will play again and again. Yardage stakes in the fairway would be nice as would water on the course for drinking. Overall, worth the time to play Deltona Hills.
Not bad
We had not played the course in a while based on reviews and ratings. We decided to give it another go, to see for ourselves. The course could use some work. It was dry in places, some of the greens were damaged and ran slow. If you kept to the fairways the golfing was, not bad. Tee boxes were a little sparse. With that, the pave of play was great, no pushing and no one in front holding us up. The staff were very friendly and informed us of changes to the course to bring it back up. The heat, what can I say. We will give it another try, in the future, to see if some changes were made. Overall, not a bad place to play. Oh, no water holes.
What happened to this place?
If you are wanting to play early make sure you call ahead and ask if they have large groups going out. Every time I’ve tried to play there is a group of 10+ of the older gentlemen or women going out. I get slow play but 10-15 min a hole is a little much. Or the club house should just not book tee times close to the larger groups. Course looks bad. Building looks like it about to collapse.
Groups parking carts on the green. Oh and the Range was closed because there picker broke, so no practicing.
Looking better!
This course was a mess two months ago. Making a huge comeback since the water issues got fixed. Pros: Interesting and challenging layout with lots of elevation changes. The greens are looking very good and are much faster. Fairways are getting grass again. The fringe around the green is also looking manicured. The course is fairly priced. Cons: The snack bar is closed more often than not when it comes to their grill. The rough is too high and some of the traps are in need of weed killer.
Hi we had a great time! Course is super shape ! Will play there again soon !
