DeBary Golf & Country Club

If you like target golf - small, fast and undulating greens, this is for you. Just expect club members can contain up to 6 players on the course. On this round, we ran into a 5-some on the back nine. We completed the front in 1 1/2 hours. The back in 2 1/2 hours. That reminded me as to why I only play the course sparingly. Guess I'll be playing other courses in the Orlando area until the memory (annoyance?) of this round subsides.

Greens were spotty in some places, fairways good, several tee boxes were below average. Course has taken small step back during past year. Recommend if you can find a discounted rate

So I had a fee issues. First one was when I got there, I drove from a ways away, and did get caught in traffic. I was cutting close on my time. So I asked if it would be an issue if I moved back, or if that would cause issues. They said it should be fine, I was the last one on the sheet. There were about 12 people on the range that were going out, so either they all walked up, members just walked on and didn't check in, or he didn't understand what I was asking. Anyways I find another single, and we go out in between two of the groups, and before a tournament/league (???) that was going out at 2:12... aka right behind us. I was told to ask the starter about all this, I never saw one near the ramge or 1st tee.

The course layout is beautiful. Winding through trees, small hills, almost felt like a miniature version of El Campeon, in Howee in thr Hills. The course is challenging. Which that's fine, but with overgrown grass in some areas, GUR, or what should be, in many places, bare hard packed dirt in large parts of fairway and fringe, a challenging course starts to just get frustrating. And all of that could've been overlooked, but the greens, there was a few of them with large fungus patches, and grain growing in 10 different directions. Honestly, my short game is the best it's been in my entire life, and that just wasn't an advantage here that day. At least 12/18 cups, either grain, or just bumpy greens, you'd putt straight on, or read something easy, and the ball cut the opposite direction on the last 3 inches. Again and again and again.

Course is great, a good price typically, and really, it's almost there. Aerate the greens, punch and plug some areas in the fairway, and a few places get sod, and this course will be in fantastic shape.

Excellent layout and conditions. Greens are fast and without disease. Lloyd Clifton design. Only complaint is possibly lack of much elevation change.

This was my first time at DeBary Country Club and I was thoroughly impressed. This was the best course I have played this summer. The course has great drainage and it was in much better condition than any courses I have played recently for a similar greens fee. The fairways are wide letting you feel comfortable using the driver all day. The greens are all large, in great condition and challenging. I will definitely be back.

The club’s continuous quest to make improvements and renovations has paid off. You have to play it believe it; it’s like playing on a PGA tour golf course! C

Greens are good, price is super reasonable, pro shop and cart staff were great even found my lost putter cover from three weeks ago. Would recommend

Worth the ride over from Daytona and enough elevation change to change Florida Golf. For me, I've enjoyed it for 30 years and still do my first and only holy one after playing 457 years!!!!

Played today for the first time and was very pleased. Greens and teeboxes were great, fairways in good condition with the rough being a little too rough in certain areas but still good. Great layout for a semi challenging player. One thing is some cart paths are under construction. Besides that great course, would play again for sure.

Greens rolled well, a few spots under repair on some of the greens but pin placements were always in good spots. The fairways were in good condition and tee boxes were fair. One of the best courses in south Volusia.

Greens were decent. Had a few areas needed work. Tee boxes were rough.

Course doing well despite the drought. Greens fast and roll true. Pace of play pretty slow though.

Course was in great shape overall. Tee boxes were a little rough but everything else has been improving.
