Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of New Jersey's top public courses. It is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses including the popular Ballyowen and Crystal Springs golf courses. Wild Turkey combines characteristics from both. The layout has a unique design inspired by the interesting topography, which is most aptly described as "basin and ridge." The "basin" of the course is a wide-open expanse that offers plenty of room while the holes that play along the "ridge" of the golf course tumble across a variety of elevation changes. Due to the dramatic undulations of the terrain, it's a tough golf course to walk. Wild Turkey Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh. This tricky hole calls for a demanding carry over a quarry lake in order to reach the well protected green.

One of the best in Northern NJ

A round at Wild Turkey is what most golfers dream of; beautiful scenery, immaculate course conditions. An absolutely awesome test of golf.

This course is by far my favorite of the Crystal Springs Resort courses and although it is a little bit more expensive and the rounds a little bit slower, the course is simply amazing.

One of the unique features that Wild Turkey offers is that it is wide open and shaping your shots with a draw or cut doesn't present a challenge. This allows you to really challenge the course as long as you can judge the wind and elevation changes. All in all, there are few public courses in NJ that I would rather play.

Challenging but playable.

Course was in very nice condition. Loved the layout. Long par 5s and four long par 3s (two with forced carries over water). Course was challenging but most fairways provide generous landing areas. Only issue was pace of play......5 hours on a Monday?!

Great course and facilities but service a little lacking

Beautiful vistas on many holes, course design was fabulous. Pro shop and facilities are first class. Service was slightly lacking with newbie bag attendants and a stalling gas golf cart. For this price, I expect electric carts. Thankfully, my playing partners made this round a blast.

Great Staff

We played the day after they got deluged with rain, so the course was not in great condition. However, it is a neat layout, and fun to play. The primary reason I am rating this course as "excellent" is beacause of the staff. They are dedicated to seeing that their customers are well taken care of. Thanks a lot, and we will be back again soon.

Wild Turkey Review

One of my 2 favorites of the 7 courses at the Crystal Springs compound, is in great shape for this far into the season. Pace of play was smooth with no real delays, especially on such a great golf weather day (71 degrees / very low humidity / clear skies) and with the course full. My only complaint would be the severe lack of sand in the traps. And I visited far too many of them along the way. Friendly helpful staff from start to finish! A very golfer friendly course, worth a visit!!

This course is very challenging. Beautifully scenery!

The course was in excellent condition. The greens were fast and true. The pace of play was good. We had an early tee time and got out on the number.

Course has nice views of the surrounding area with a couple of holes looking directly into the valley.

This is one of my favorite courses to play in the area, depending on the tee box you choose the course can be played to any level of golfer. A word to Some of my fellow players, most of you should be playing from the up tees, I see to many playing from the tips that are lucky if they can drive the ball 240 yards, that's not going to get it done on a course that can measure out to nearly 7,000. Not only do you make the game less fun for you but for everyone else because you increase the round time because of your lack of distance and yes many times control of the ball as well, mainly from over swinging .

Great elevation , was in great condition.

This must be beautyful to play in the fall, I thought the spotters on the course was good to speed up play. Again another course with bad yardage markers and to prism glass in the flag sticks. What could that cost for eighteen flag when they charge $127.00 to play.

Like a golf course should be

Really enjoyed my round at Wild Turkey yesterday despite the rain that pooled in the bunkers and on some fairways. It was excellently kept and there were maintenance crews out all day. The course is actually laid out very well. Some holes can penalize you for taking driver off the tee which I like - so we found ourselves hitting 3-wood and Hybrid off the box to certain positions. There are a bunch of elevated greens which is a bit tricky since it is difficult to see the pin, and few holes had blind second shots. All but one of the par 5s is reachable in 2 with a well placed drive and there are definitely a bunch of par 4 "scoring holes" to make up for some of the longer par 3s. We played the par 3s well despite there being a 167 yd par 3 over a rock quarry/pond, a 188 yd par 3 downhill, and a 145 yd par 3 over water. Really good layout and in my opinion, much easier than Crystal Springs which had a ton of blind shots.

Course is always well maintained and the greens roll true. Par threes are challenging along with some long par fives make this a fun place to play.

Great Day @ Wild Turkey

Course was in good condition for the time of year. Only area that could have used some attention was bunkers. Being that we were an earlier tee time I don't imagine they were unkempt due to the amount of play they received. Otherwise, tees were great, fairways were great, and greens were smooth and rolling. Wild Turkey always proves to be worth the money.

Very friendly course

This is a lovely course. Open fairways allow for relaxed driving, and the holes are consistently interesting and scenic. Most trees weren't green yet, but when the leaves come out it must be beautiful. A couple of signature par 3s are stunning.

Great Course Layout with beautful scenery.

The fairways wrere in great shape. The greens werer difficult but that is to be expected at this time of the year. The price was reasonable. I will definately use your site in the future. Someon told me that your rates are better than at the pro shop of the course we played. Thank you!
