Wild Turkey Golf Club
About
Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of New Jersey's top public courses. It is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses including the popular Ballyowen and Crystal Springs golf courses. Wild Turkey combines characteristics from both. The layout has a unique design inspired by the interesting topography, which is most aptly described as "basin and ridge." The "basin" of the course is a wide-open expanse that offers plenty of room while the holes that play along the "ridge" of the golf course tumble across a variety of elevation changes. Due to the dramatic undulations of the terrain, it's a tough golf course to walk. Wild Turkey Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh. This tricky hole calls for a demanding carry over a quarry lake in order to reach the well protected green.

Wild turkey
Best course I've played in tri state area , excellent shape for December
Slow play
Course is in good condition but pace of play was extremely slow, took over five hours!
average conditions
Slow poor greens for a supposed top level course. Bunkers unranked, fairways ok.
Good value for what we paid ($42) but I wo Ulf never pay more than that for the conditions we played
Casual golfer
Great course and facility. Pace of play was a bit slow but really enjoy the course layout. Will definitely play again many times per season
Bad knees
I have bad knees and can't walk much. Unfortunately, on the first hole, it's cart path only. I was bummed since this hole has a very wide fairway, so if you made a good shot, it is a long trek between the cart and your ball.
Kind of disturbed me quite a bit and this affected my playing for the next several holes.
After that, everything went fine.
Excruciatingly slow play
It was a terrible day to play this course. There was an outing going on before and during our time on the course and our round took 5 hours, 35 minutes to complete. Waiting on every tee and for most second shots. This was totally unexpected and unacceptable on a weekday afternoon. I feel that at the very least I should have been advised of the outing (which always seems to have a lot of hackers). Had I been, I certainly would not have elected to play at that time. I am hereby requesting a refund of the price I paid for the 2 players in the amount of $130.06. Please reply at your earliest.
great layout with some very challenging tee shots
The course is a lot of fun to play with challenges followed by rewards. A little course knowledge could help but not a requirement. Well worth the trip
CM
It's a great course but, they need to rack their bunkers each morning before all of the groups go out. Just something that should not have been overlooked. Otherwise, it's very playable and has a couple of great long par threes. Staff was friendly and professional.
Great Course
Excellent golf course and facilities. Eat/drink before you arrive. Only saw cart girl once on the round and grill doesn't open until 11.
Its just NICE!!!!!
beautiful course ,no one seems to replace divots, no mix on carts .would play it again
Slow turkey
I arrived a few mins late due to traffic , the staff at the clubhouse was friendly and accommodating ! , however , the starters who are was riminiscent of the movie " crankie old man ", he asked me to skip a few holes and joint a couple who were already playing , I joint them and disturbed play of others I was passing , then the play was slow and no rangers to advice people on speeding up and keeping pace , it was truly horrendous !, such a well designed course , just a little more supervision and friendliness from starters and missing rangers and this " wild turkey" would have been and enjoyable and challenging experience !,
Thanks
just wonderful
great course in great conditions. A must play if in the area
Excellent condition
Great condition, pace of play was terrible. To all, please learn to repair your ball mark on the greens, it makes it better for everyone.
Great layout ---- very challanging
Love the layout and condition of course. The cart caddies are not very helpful and really try to hustle you for additional tips. Not a good first impression . Will play course again but will take my own bag to cart and clean my own clubs so I don't have to deal with cart caddies.
Wild turkey
Practice area should be on grass not mats
Fairways were well manicured.
Rough was cut to a playable height.
Greens were in good condition but overall speed was slow.
Very enjoyable round
Great conditions, beautiful course, some great holes. Played a little slow, but very enjoyable.
Great course
This course is beautiful and I thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon of golf. That said I must warn women that the forward tees do not get much of an advantage and in some cases the tee advantage is laughable. I seemed to play out of the bunkers all day and they were filled with rocks and hard packed sand/dirt. The bunkers could use some soft sand and need the attention of the groundskeeper. This course is difficult to play quickly because of the amount of travel time between holes. I would not suggest walking this course EVER!
Fair and fun- use all clubs
Great course - wish they would have gps on electric carts/, gas carts noisy and hard
Wild Turkey
Wild Turkey GC is a blend of Crystal Springs (challenging par 3's) and Ballyowen (use of fescue grass) courses. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens are kept in great condition. The sand traps have a hard pack sand with small stones. Pace of play today was a little slow thru the first 7 holes today due to an outing. The ranger kept us informed as to their progress. Mid-station has a good selection of food and beverage as well as the clubhouse. Facilities and equipment are new or like new condition. This is a fun course to be played by all!
Fun course
Great course - would rate it an excellent if the bunkers had sand like Ballyowen. Sand was hard and difficult to hit out of and our entire foursome found this to be the case.
