Wild Turkey Golf Club
About
Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of New Jersey's top public courses. It is part of the Crystal Springs Resort, which offers six other courses including the popular Ballyowen and Crystal Springs golf courses. Wild Turkey combines characteristics from both. The layout has a unique design inspired by the interesting topography, which is most aptly described as "basin and ridge." The "basin" of the course is a wide-open expanse that offers plenty of room while the holes that play along the "ridge" of the golf course tumble across a variety of elevation changes. Due to the dramatic undulations of the terrain, it's a tough golf course to walk. Wild Turkey Golf Club's signature hole is the par-3 seventh. This tricky hole calls for a demanding carry over a quarry lake in order to reach the well protected green.

Very fun, nice, and challenging course
Lots of fun features, up and down fairways, sand and water features moderate to heavy. All in all awesome value for the money and would definitely play again!
Great place to play but extremely challenging.
This course had fantastic amenities and service -- the staff was friendly and helpful. The course was well kept with amazing views, but they course extremely hard. Very narrow fairways and even if you ended up in them your lie was on a mogul. The layout was like a Links course but with no open spaces. I will definitely go back but after I dust the rust off to actually score.
Great course, friendly people.
Good all around, great course, interesing holes, would love to play the course when all is grown in.
Beauty and a Beast
Scenery wise, this is right at the top of the charts in all of NJ. Absolutely gorgeous hole layouts, but tortourously lumpy. Someone said there ins't an even lie on the whole course and that's not realy an exaggeration. Worth the price of admission for the quarry hole (#2 classic). Bring a lot of balls, and be prepared to use clubs at yardages you're not used to. I hit the same club 150 and 190, based on elevation changes, which are absolutely the norm here. Lot of double and even triple tiered greens.
Only complaints: course could have had better signage along the cart paths to offer direction to the unfamiliar. THe starters were letting 4somes out with 4 carts, twosomes out with 2 carts, not pairing twosomes so we really felt rushed for most of the front nine. We had to let 3 groups play through, and while one of our group was playing a little slow, it wasn't THAT slow. Still, I''m definintely going back to this place.
Beautiful, but super expensive...
WT is, by far, the most beautiful course I've ever played. The whole Crystal Springs Resort is beautiful as well. I believe it costs over $200,000 to lease an apartment on the complex for a year. It's player-friendly due to the lack of trees and abundance of open ground. Bent grass fairways that are just amazing, and fast, maintained greens that can cause even the best putters to 3 putt. The layout is interesting, that's for sure. After the third hole, you have to drive (in the WORLD'S SLOWEST CARTS) about a half a mile to the fourth. There's not a single hole that I dislike on this course. The Par 5 17th is probably my favorite. It plays around 600yds. The par 3 7th is the signature hole, and that, too, is a nice hole. You're hitting your tee shot over a lake onto a well protected green. All I'm going to say is, club up.
The clubhouse is gorgeous- loaded to the brim with clubs, woods, wedges, putters, balls, bags, and other miscellaneous accessories.Tons of good looking Bev Girls, and the staff dresses very traditionally. Boys wear the baggy checkered pants with high socks and girls wear skirts. The only negative is the price. It's a shame that this course is so expensive, because it doesn't allow more golfers to play there because quite frankly, not many people can afford it. Take advantage of the 58 dollar deals on golfnow while you can, otherwise you'll be paying a fortune.
a very challenging course
the course is difficult ,butt plays very nicely from hole to hole.
Very Nice course!
The ratings given require some qualification, so here goes.
4 stars; The place is really nice but let's face it, it's not Pebble Beach.
The pace was pretty good, but i played on a weekday in December.
The difficulty was moderate for an above average golfer.
The course conditions weren't pristine, but i played in December.
The staff was definitely more than cordial but not Super Friendly.
The value was great because I only paid 23 bucks.
The only complaints I have is 1- the difficulty navigating (first time playing there). 2- The day I played was CART PATH ONLY and the course has many hills so it was a workout to say the least. 3- The traffic getting there and back (depending on where you are located) is horrendous.
Overall a very nice course with a lot of houses (didn't really bother me), accuracy off the tee makes a big difference here.
Pricey but worth it!
This is the biggest and most beautfiul golf course I have ever played. The fairways are looooong, but you get that much more golf in on each hole. The creative and innovative hole layouts are challenging and the greens are pristine. Great amenities complete this resort!
We couldn't have played at a better place
I went and played with 3 friends of mine and all of us had a great experience playing at wild turkey. The pace of play was great. We didn't have to wait on any holes for any group that may have been in front of us. The views were beautiful. The rate to play wasn't bad. The only thing that bothered me a little was the fact that it was cart path only on every hole. It was such a nice day out and hadn't rained for a few days and I couldn't understand why we were told to drive on path only. Besides that it was a great time
WOW
One of my favorites. he par 3's are awesome. One better then the next. Many blind shots to make you think. Very large greens so watch the three putts. At times you will feel like you are wondering through an old historic village. One problem is that there are a few too many houses along the course. Best clubhouse I have seen.
Everything's good...
Tee box, green and fairway are well maintained. And, great layout. I played this course about 10 times this year.
about 3 times green was good speed but the other times green speed was slow...
This golf course will be real # 1 if they maintain fast green condition.
this is great course.
very challenging course ,very well maintained.
Great expirence.
tight fairways plenty of blind shots
pretty slow play for a 1:40 pm start never finished 18
Good track...
First, let's clarify the above ratings (there are only two options for each; awful or awesome. Conditions are good, but the course gets a lot of play. Staff is pretty good, but I wouldn't say they are "super friendly." Value for the money is not below average if you're playing during prime time. Twilight and Super Twilight offer much better values.
The Crystal Springs Golf Resort generally does a nice job at all of its courses. Crystal Springs is challenging, especially if you play one of the back tees. Gotta be straight off the tee and the greens make putting difficult. From the white tees, there are many holes that don't require a driver...a good thing considering there's not much room to miss. The "signature" hole is the par 3 11th...a 150 or 180 yard shot (sort of a double green) that is off a cliff. I would say hit 2 clubs less than normal, unless, of course, the wind is blowing...then you just have to guess!
16, 17, and 18 make for a tough finish!
Pretty hard yet fun
As your playing through this narrow course you feel like your in a little town that had a course stuffed in between it. Their are a lot of blind shots, hills, bunkers, and thick ruffs. This course can make you rip your hair out. Never the less it is very beautiful and well maintained. The people working their are very friendly and when I was their I didn't see a single person the entire day playing but me. They also give you free range balls and their driving range is amazing.
Always challenging to play
THe course was in excellent condition and the pace of play was perfect
This was a delight playing this course.
This was the best course I played for this season.
Excellent design and condition
Great course...absolutely recommend playing it. Great design. Greens are in excellent shape.
