Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

Slow play and lack of maintenance

Played this course and wanted to like it but felt it was in poor shape, bunkers were some weird sand dirt combo. Greens looked terrible though they rolled ok. Staff was friendly however pace of play was slow. One golfer ahead of us said welcome to the Dunedin 5.5 hour round.

Heard they will be doing a renovation of the whole course in the next year. I hope they do. At 89 a round it is definitely not worth it. If I had paid $30-$40 maybe.

We were first time players there. The fellow in the pro shop was not helpful and actually quite rude and dismissive. I’m guessing because we booked through Tee Off. We wanted to go to the range first and had to really dig for information on how to do that.

It’s a shame he was so unfriendly because the starter was kind and the course was great!!
