Dunedin Golf Club
About
Dunedin Golf Club was carved out of citrus groves and was the PGA National Golf Course until 1962. The golf course itself is delightful. From elevation changes to a river that bisects the course, you can just feel the aura of the great golfers who have played here. Bobby Jones, Gene Saraze, Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Byron Nelson, Paul Runyan to name a few have participated in tournaments here. Dunedin Country Club is located in Dunedin, minutes from the beaches, many restaurants and several top hotel options. Dunedin Golf Club is a Donald Ross creation.

Great Day!
Staff is Great! Friendly and helpful. The course is in great condition. Greens were smooth and running pretty fast. The course isn't a back breaker but from the backs tees (6700) you still have to hit shots. There was a two club wind at times which made it tricky. Pace was painfully slow and we could see it was because of one foursome holding up the world but I had cigars and beer and good friends so I was OK with it.
Ross
Enjoyable Donald Ross course---small greens that have subtle breaks.Pretty open off the tee.
Nice course
Great value for $20 plus tax. Course in great condition. Pace of play could be better if twosomes paired to make foursomes.
very enjoyable
The weather always helps & it was good. Unfortunately it was cart path only & some holes on the back 9 were very wet. We hooked up with an American couple & had a great afternoon.
We will play there again.
Typical Donald Ross
Man this course is beautiful. Lived here for years without trying it (assumed it was private) and now I can't get enough of it. Wide open fairways, but don't miss them, because it is not easy to recover a wayward shot. Tiny sloped greens, well protected by deep bunkers. Front and back nine play as two different courses, very fun.
Donald Ross
Anytime I can play a Donald Ross course, I really look forward to it. Very nostalgic old course in great condition. Bermuda greens sneaky fast down grain. Breaks are very subtle on the small greens - nobody made a long put all day. Not much in the way of forced carries makes the course very playable for all capabilities. The well placed green side bunkers are in great condition, although some golfers refuse to use a rake - no fault of the course.
Death March to 18
No Rangers to speed up play. Tee times too close. 5:35 minutes. Two groups at the hole in front and behind.
Might try again with the understanding that this type of play is unacceptable. Charge more guarantee a 4 hr round.
Dunedin Golf Club
I've played here several times in the past and always found the course to be in great shape. Got paired up with two gentlemen from TX who were great partners. Staff was friendly along with the members. If you are in the area and planning to play golf, make sure you try out this course - you'll love it!! Great value also.
Great old time course
I could play this course ever day. Greens had a great pace to them. Fairways were a little tin on the back nine. If you get a chance to play it do it.
Still a great course
I was lucky enough to be paired with two very nice members. The fairways and greens are excellent as I expected. This one time PGA Headquarters has a challenging course with four difficult holes to start. I would suggest that the average amateur move up one or more tees. The penalty for not being in the fairway can be very harsh on the scorecard. The only thing I found distracting was extremely deep sand in some bunkers.
Great fairways, greens and tee boxes.
This course is well maintained. Wide open fairways, fast but consistent, nice greens. No cart girl in afternoon, no hot dogs on the turn with a snoopy staff in restaurant. Overall, good course for the average golfer. Better than most in the area.
One of my favs
Love this course! Generous off the tees but you have to be on to score. Hooray Donald Ross. Staff are always friendly and welcoming. Bar and food are good value, and location is convenient. What more could you want? Maybe a couple weeks of drier weather ...
Dunedin
The staff was friendly, helpful & professional. The Pro/Manager was rather cold in his approach to customers & a real turn off to wanting to return. Time for an attitude adjustment.
Under repair
Played at 1pm. Had the course almost for myself. Took me 2h45mins to play. Greens were in excellent condition. Was disappointed that 2 par5 (#15 and #17) were under repair and converted to par3. Course is fairly easy.
Dunedin GC - Old Classic
Well-kept course with good greens, wide fairways and trees with tall grass for out of bounds.
Fit a round In
In Florida on business late June. Had course almost entirely to myself. Enjoyed this course - different than other courses in Florida - homes that line the course are not on top of you. Very enjoyable. Back 9 a bit more challenging with more variety than front 9. Greens were in excellent shape. Well maintained bunkers.
Would Play Again
Greens and fairways in excellent shape. Bunker sand was loose and well maintained. Had the course almost to my self. No wait - Weather was warm and humid. Provided plenty of ice water - filled 2 cups to start and 2 more at the turn. Pleasant afternoon golfing . Liked the back 9 more than the front -more variety in holes and terrain.
Dunedin country club review
Great course! The greens were in great condition (the ball rolled extremely well)... And the fairways were nice as well. I would definitely play this course several more times!!
Enjoyable Donald Ross course.
Having not swung a club in a few weeks, this course was perfect for me. Wide fairways and open spaces prevented me from having to hunt through mangroves and heavily wooded forest preserves to find my ball (and I had my share of bad shots) Took all of 3 hours to play 18 which I always appreciate, even with some rain slowing me down on the back 9. Pro shop guy was friendly and worked fast. Would love to play again soon.
Must play
Very well kept. Greens make the course a bit of a challenge but they are very fun to putt on. I play this course anytime that I get the chance to. Highly recommended
