Patriot Hills Golf Club

        About
Tucked away in the Ramapo Mountains on a perch overlooking the Hudson, Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point feels far but it’s conveniently only an hour’s drive from the city. The golf course tumbles across dramatically rolling hills, providing views that span the Hudson Valley. Don’t let the 6,485 yards on the scorecard fool you, the daunting elevation changes make the course feel much longer. Walkers should be forewarned that this mountainous golf course is nearly impossible on foot. You can expect a few approaches to uphill greens but more often you’ll be faced with intimidating shots from elevated tees, which loom more than 200 feet above the severely contoured fairways below. The Patriot Hills layout is a formidable test but players of any skill level can appreciate the meticulous care that went into crafting each hole.

Patriot Hills
Love this course. Tough track but fun to play. Views are amazing. Course in terrific shape. Highly recommended.
Beautiful views
Fun course to play with all the elevation changes!
I'll be back
Wow, this course is in immaculate condition. Greens are amazing and fast, as they'd been cut and rolled :) Many holes where the tee is well above the fairway. There is a good halfway shop on the 10th. We had the sliders after our round, and they were really good
Amazing course and clubhouse
What a course. Amazing views, course in amazing condition, staff is awesome and pace of play is great. You can literally watch your pace of play on the GPS screen so for the dude that was mad I don’t get it, or just ask to play through if behind a slow group, nobody cares.. Prices are crazy good for the quality of course, staff and carts. Retired military and played courses all over, believe me this is a class act and you won’t be disappointed!
Do Not Play EXTREME SLOW PLAY AND NO RANGERS!
Only got through 14 holes in 5 hours yesterday and left the course due to extreme slow play. Never seen a course that had no supervision or rangers monitoring the pace of play ( I know the course will say their carts monitor pace electronically but don’t believe that nonsense). I drove an hour and a half to play this course and will never do it again. Called the pro shop and administration and said nothing but sorry nothing I can do to help you. HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED AND DO NOT RECOMMEND.
Much rather play Pound Ridge, Centennial, Mansion Ridge, etc as those courses value the customers experience!!!
Outstanding
Beautiful and challenging, the elevation changes are majestic… Course is in great shape and the staff is wonderful. I love this place.
Great Course
The course was great. The view were nice also. Cant say much about the off-course amenities since I didn't use any. I did walk through the bar/restaurant and it looked very nice.
I will definitely play Patriot Hills again and recommend it.
Lots of shade and beautiful course
Beautiful course with lots of rolling hills. Shaded on the cart path to help keep you cool on hot days.
Bunkers are beautifully positioned around the fairways and green which offer a breathtaking view off the tee box.
Great course
Absolutely beautiful course. It's definitely challenging, so choose your tee box wisely. If you're a visual player and like to shape shots, you're gonna love this course. It sets up great to the eye on the tee. Greens were in great shape and the clubhouse had some nice amenities. I could see a group hanging out there all day.
A Hidden Gem That Outshines Many Private Clubs
Patriot Hills is hands down one of the best public golf courses I’ve played in the Hudson Valley area. I teed off midday and was blown away by the quality of the course—lush fairways, challenging elevation changes, and jaw-dropping views throughout. Every hole felt like a new experience, with the kind of scenic beauty you usually only find at high-end mountain courses. At times, the landscape even gave me Green Mountain National vibes from Vermont—just gorgeous.
What really impressed me was the customer service. I’ve been struggling with a bit of knee pain lately and asked for a single cart—something most courses won’t budge on, even with documentation. But the team at Patriot Hills didn’t hesitate. They made sure I was comfortable and moving at a good pace, which helped not only me but the groups around us as well.
Pace of play was great—we wrapped up the round in right around four hours. There’s a solid halfway house after the front nine with snacks, cold drinks, and beer, and the clubhouse grill also served up a great lunch. The whole day, including the cart, cost about $80, which is an unbeatable price for a course of this caliber. Honestly, it plays better than many private clubs I’ve visited.
This place is a gem. Can’t recommend it enough.

This seems extreme...I play here all the time and they always try to keep things moving. It's not an easy golf course but i always see rangers and i'm always getting messages about picking it up lol.
Hi Jason,
Per our discussion, your group started at exactly 2:50PM and finished the 15th hole at exactly 6:42PM (3 hours, 52 minutes). Our GPS Visage system monitors pace of play to the exact second. Our pace of play is 4 hours and 35 minutes for Friday afternoons, and your group was 2 minutes behind pace (4 hours, 37 minutes). Also, please note as we discussed, your group was a threesome who was playing behind foursomes, and we kindly processed your refund on the 4th player no-show. Our pace of play also includes golfer safety efforts to slow golf carts down on steep terrain. Yes, our ranger on duty had a shift that ended at 3PM. The pace of play is continually monitored through the pro shop afterwards and assistance is provided on course with other staff members as needed. We usually do not respond to reviews whether positive or negative based off of a customers legitimate experience, but when misinformation is provided to this extent, it is important to respond to protect the integrity and character of our golf course and for those who work here.
