Tucked away in the Ramapo Mountains on a perch overlooking the Hudson, Patriot Hills Golf Club in Stony Point feels far but it’s conveniently only an hour’s drive from the city. The golf course tumbles across dramatically rolling hills, providing views that span the Hudson Valley. Don’t let the 6,485 yards on the scorecard fool you, the daunting elevation changes make the course feel much longer. Walkers should be forewarned that this mountainous golf course is nearly impossible on foot. You can expect a few approaches to uphill greens but more often you’ll be faced with intimidating shots from elevated tees, which loom more than 200 feet above the severely contoured fairways below. The Patriot Hills layout is a formidable test but players of any skill level can appreciate the meticulous care that went into crafting each hole.

very hilly tough course
The course is very hilly and very scenic with long rides between tees. Good halfway house after ninth hole with frankfurters and sandwiches. Lots of blind shots, uphill ,sidehill and downhill shots.. Greens are large, in good shape and difficult to read. fairways are ok , not country club level, but good for a fee for play course. Traps are good (and there are plenty of them strategically placed)
but not raked even though rakes are on the carts. Screens on carts are helpful for distances and directions.
4 1/2 hour round for four good players playing quickly because of difficulty of course and distances between tees. You cannot walk this course

Nice track!
Course is in good shape except for the ballmarks on the greens. Traps weren’t raked either. Not a long course nor is it too challenging if you keep it in the fairway. Pace is pretty good. Enjoyable round. Lots of hills and undulating greens.

Beautiful course the staff is great the pace of play was tremendous never waited on a shot I highly recommend I live on Long Island and make the trip a few times a year it’s well worth it

Great Course / Condition
Played at Patriot Hills on GolfNow. Otherwise, the cost is too much to play. Played on Fri 4:20 tee time. With sun going down around 8:40pm, we should have finished but we ended up not playing 2 holes. Pace of play was really bad. This course is very challenging and when golfers are looking for there balls, we were backed up almost every hole (except for the 1st hole). There was a ranger for the 1st few holes then after 5pm, no ranger in sight. Need better management to control the pace of play. Otherwise, excellent layout and great condition.

You'll need all the clubs in your bag
First time playing Patriot Hills and it was a great golf course. You need to be long and accurate, especially off the tee's. I think I used every club in the bag which is a plus because that doesn't happen to often. Great views and a pretty cool layout. All and all really nice track.

We try to play this course once or twice a year. We did not play it last year but the course is in great shape. The course will challenge you if you try to take it on.
