Golfer Reviews
Powerscourt East Course - Excellent and Accessible
Played Powerscourt East course for the first time. Beautiful scenic course. The course, staff and conditions were all excellent. The weather was perfect in July 2024. Compared to the West course, the East course is probably less demanding to walk, and it has a cart/buggy path that runs throughout the course, which makes it easier for trolleys or for people using buggies. Decent bathrooms are located on the course. Gavin Hunt, one of the administrators, is very friendly. Well worth a visit. Highly recommend playing both courses. The scenery is incredible!
Beautiful Scenic Course
Played Powerscourt West course for the first time. The weather was perfect. I am a single digit HCP. Everything was perfect except pace of play. There was a group of threesome ladies ahead who were in a competition, so they apologized for not letting me pass, as I was playing solo. However, after 9 holes the tournanment was done but another group of 3 ladies never let me pass, so I had to wait on every hole for the entire round. The course, staff, facilities and amenities are top-notch, without any hint of a snooty atmosphere. Definitely recommend this course and wish that other golfers don't hold you up. I rented an electric trolley for €15 well worth it. Course is hilly, for sure. Cheers!
Powerscourt East course
Played both the West and East course and this is the East course review which was slightly easier than the West course but the rough could be lethal of going into it.
Course layout was easy to follow and very interesting holes and a good test.
Green were in good condition but very tricky as well as being quick.
Staff were fantastic and played with another couple of guests.
Club house is great and food is lovely so we'll worth a visit.
Powerscourt West course
Booked here whilst staying at the neighbouring hotel and wasn't disappointed.
After checking in the day prior to make sure no problems with my t times was greeted by very friendly and helpful pro shop staffing took a personal interest in my visit.
Ended up joining up with a member and his guest and couldn't have asked for a friendliest duo, as for the course that also wasn't disappointing the course was in immaculate condition apart from the very harsh rough if going a bit off line.
Greens were in good condition but very tricky all in all would highly recommend this course if anybody fancies visiting just hope the East course is in good condition also.
Well worth it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Course in excellent shape. Great day of golf!
Great course but very very slow
Course in good condition but the pace of play was very very slow. 5 plus hour round, waiting on every tee box. Tee times need to be spread out more
Lovely Course
Fairways in excellent condition despite recent weeks of heavy rain. Three holes closed but probably for the best. Greens heavily sanded. Stunning course
Great Course
For this time of year the course was immaculate 👌🏻
Picturesque and so well maintained.
We played the East course. 2 days after snow covered the both course's. Credit to the ground staff the grounds around the course the fairways and the greens were in unbelievable condition.
This is up there as 1 of the nicest course's I've played. A beautiful picturesque course with some tricky holes. We will be back. Thank you
Overpriced and uninspiring East course
Relatively boring front nine, killed by slow pace of play and spike marks covering most of greens. Back nine somewhat visually better but overall overpriced and targeting society and green fees.
Don’t get the hype
Course was in good nick after all the rain. I don’t really get why it’s rated so highly. It’s a relatively easy track with very few great holes on it. There are far better courses available for half the price. Enjoyed the east course a lot more.
