Wicklow GC frosty day
I played the course last Friday 02/01 and the temperature didn't get above 2 degrees. Saying that the course had little or no frost and was in really good condition for the time of year. We played as a 3 ball behind a 4 but they were held up by a really slow 3 ball ahead of them. We were started on the 5th as we were told that the first hole was being used for competitions and that we could go back to the first when we finished. We didn't bother playing the first 4 as there was a big queue of people either starting or finishing off their last 4 holes. Overall a good experience but would recommend to play it during the summer with a buggy as it is quite hilly.
Beautiful course and Great value for money
The course was in great condition especially after the weather we had just had. The course has a unique links/parkland style which is a neat design.
Some tees were a bit hard to find. Might be good to have a few more signs but once you go around once I’m sure it would be fine. The compressed air wasn’t working on the day which was a tad annoying as the course conditions meant everything was quite muddy.
Mini agusta
This course has got the lot, undulations, views, fantastic greens and a welcome here from pro, staff and members second to none. This is a very well run club steeped in history and pride and I would feel very privileged to be a member here.
Beautiful
A fabulous links layout. Beautiful old course with spectacular views and holes. No long but quite tricky. A mixture of long par 4 and drivable par 4.
The miss is right on most tee boxes.
Greens were terrific. Fast with a lot of break.
The Pro (Louise) was great. A big welcome at check in. Played with a member who was v kind & informative. Will come back again.
Thanks WGC
wicklow wow
Beautiful views are the main topic of this review..hard course but had lots of fun...walking is not easy..tired by the 15th hole..rental clubs were subpar...no beer cart..still course was amazing...definitely would play again...
Must play course
For mere mortals like myself , this a beautiful course with endless views, especially from the 6th tee box, play it you will enjoy it
True Irish Golf Experience!
Played Wicklow in December after a strong wind storm. It was very gusty and bearably cold. Amazing views with the course perched above the coastline. Waves crashing below and the winds playing havoc! Loved it! This course is as Irish as you can get and at very reasonable Green fees. Played with a lovely couple and their friends who were friendly. Overall a nice experience in a quaint town. The clubhouse is perched above with nice views but I did not have a chance to dine there. Definitely recommend and I will certainly go back for more!
Amazing views with great golf
Great course, a very good feast of excellent golf holes. Scenic but arduous walk, good pro shop with a very friendly pro. Great clubhouse, play a round, you will enjoy
Greens WOW
Wicklow
Spectacular views— fantastic greens — some of the best I’ve ever putted on some great holes — good par 3s
Brilliant value
The problem was we were behind a 4 ball of hackers — one who was wearing JEANS !!! Shouldn’t of been on the course
It spoilt our day nearly 5hrs should of been under 4
Would return hopefully at a quieter time
Excellent Course
Played my first round of the year here after an injury and what a place it is. Everything great around the course, and the views out to the coastline are amazing. Will definitely come back again.
Tough challenge on an excellent course
Wicklow is a beautiful and tough course. Perched on a cliff edge, it's fully exposed to the elements. We played on a pleasant dry day with fairly light winds but they were still a factor. It's a very hilly course and shortage of buggies was a problem as we had an injured player. Course condition was excellent with perfect, if challenging, greens. Kudos to the groundkeepers. Overall a really enjoyable experience but I would fear this course in any kind of poor weather.
Stunning views and course
Staff, members could not do enough for visitors, extremely nice! Golf course provided a tough test and rewarding results the whole way round. I would love to come back!
Beautiful course
Wicklow Golf Club is a hidden gem. Stunning views on every single hole. It's like a hybrid of a parkland and links course.
Lots of challenges throughout.
Not the longest course in the world, but overall it's a stunning place that's extremely well-kept and well worth the visit.
Great course
First time playing it and very enjoyable. Greens were that real highlight (apart from the view). Challenging but good for all levels.
