Raven's Claw Golf Club
About
Located in Limerick Township, Raven's Claw Golf Club is one of southeastern Pennsylvania's best golf and residential communities. It consistently ranks as one of the state's top 10. Carved from rolling hills and mature woodlands, the layout features a variety of different holes. No two holes are alike but they require some creative shot-making abilities. With tight fairways and undulating greens bordered by mounds of rough, the golf course also demands accuracy. The design incorporates links-style elements that present a formidable test. The golf course is undoubtedly challenging but there are also recovery opportunities on each hole, which makes it less daunting for beginners. One of Raven's Claw Golf Club's most memorable holes is the tricky penultimate hole. This unforgiving par-3 has a double-tiered, undulating green with no bailout areas to the left or right. Golfers that hit it short will face a blind second shot.

Good condition
Course was in good shape. Staff was very friendly. Only complaint advised 2 cart girls would be around. Saw 1 on second hole that was it for rest of the round. There was no water on the course. It was first time playing and did not realize you don't get back to club house till 18. Was hungry and thirsty
But I came to golf and thought the course was fun to play and was in good condition. The staff was very friendly
Great course
I have played the course a number of times. The course was in great shape, the greens were great and the changes made over the off season were real nice.
Worth the drive
We drove from Laurel, NJ as a foursome to play this track on a Saturday with decent weather. There are enough tee block yardages for both men/women of all handicaps. The course was "greened-up" very nicely for a Philly area course in tis difficult winter/spring year. Conditions on tees, fairways, and greens was excellent - roughs were good. Some very unusual 2nd shots and very attractive layouts on most holes. Par 3's were all different ( incl. a 210 yard from whites), 5's were challenging but fair, and 4's were really interesting. Only 1 par 5 on back nine for a par 71. We were greeted well at the bag drop, ranger was upbeat and personable, pro shop was friendly and helpful. We stayed for some wings, nachos, cocktails and were pleased with all the food/drink.
I thought the value was very good and would recommend this course with no hesitation. I'm looking forward to playing it again when in the Philly area!
Great bargain
Have played this course many times. Friendly staff. Conditions are very good for this early in the season. Tee boxes moved up probably to preserve regular tees for season. Like the course layout.
Uncontrolled slow play
This is an interesting course but poorly managed and they accept it. The timing clocks at tee boxes are set for 5 hour play for 18 holes. Starter told us that if there were 8 carts backed up at a tee we could call and they would send a ranger out. We only had 6 cart backup and there were no rangers to be seen anywhere.
Can't take the slow play anymore. We're done.
Great course
Challenging course to play. Weather was poor but staff was great.
rained out
we booked our tee time on a hot deal from golf now. it rained for a couple of days so the course ended up being closed. the club house was still open for the driving range. the attendant at the club house called golf now to verify that they were closed so we would get refunded our money, which we did. I have played the course but was 6 years ago. looking forward to playing there.
Ravens Claw is a must play
Course was beautiful as usual... It's never over booked and it's the most enjoyable 4 hours I've ever spent on a public golf course. Do yourself a favor and play this course.
Great course for the money!
I took a foursome to Raven'sClaw on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) this year. I had not played there since it was first developed, and remembered that it needed quite a bit of nurturing at that time. I'm happy to report that it has reached maturity. The greens are challenging, yet predictable, and the rest of the course is very playable. I'll certainly play it again in the near future.
This course has great features.
Peretty cold beacuse it is located on the hill. Don't want to play cold & windy winter time.
Slow play
Don't go here on the weekend. This is our second time playing on a Saturday. Waited on every shot. 5+ hours. I will play here weekdays however.
Great Experience
Had a great experience on this course on a Saturday. Nice discount on GolfNow and definitely worth the money. No 2 holes are alike, and some definitely require creative shot placement. Greens were fair yet challengine and the atmosphere/aesthetics were impressive, especially at this time of year. This will be a course I return to.
Nothing memorable, But a well kept well run rural golf course nonetheless
I'm a 68 year old senior playing the GOLD tees.
I don't want to play 325 holes that my tee is 50 yards forward shorten them and let them look like hole. No free rides for old men. I was able to reach all the 5 s in three and then three putted from there. The bottom line nice views and holes are away from the houses on all but one hole. Hit it solid and don't 3 putt or you'll be with me chanting "Is it good"?
Great Layout,Spectacular Views
This is the best course that I have played this year.I play close to 100 rounds per year. The fairways and greens were pristine and the rough playable. A lot of courses this year have let the rough grow so high and thick that the average golfer can barely hack their way out of it. I hope to return real soon so that I can conquer the tricky putting on these faster greens. Thanks for doing such a great job maintaining this wonderful course.
nice course
Nice course but the fairway was a little hard. Greens were in good condition and the pin placement made it challenging.
Great Deal
Played on a Friday afternoon in October. The course was very nice and in outstanding shape. I found the layout to be particularly challenging relative to other courses in the area, and as a result, I played my worst round of the year here. Looking forward to returning and hopefully improving on the result.
great fall golf
The course was in great shape and then green were true, firm and fast.
Some crazy pins depending where you were on the green.
Very enjoyable fall round of golf. Staff from the pro shop to the starters are really friendly.
Not impressed
I was really disappointed with the upkeep of this course (there is no way this is one of the top 10 public courses in the state). There was tons of water in the sand traps. Keep in mind, I played on a Monday at 11AM, and it hadn't rained since Friday so that was just inexcusable. The cart paths are STILL all gravel and had tons of water pot holes throughout the course which made for a bad experience (lots of unnecessary splashing). Also, it would be nice to have yardages on the sprinkler heads, b/c the 250, 200, 150, 100 yard sticks didn't cut it and were not very accurate. I thought the greens were in good condition but very slow. However, the tee boxes were beaten up badly. It could be a great course b/c of the layout, but there is a lot of room for improvement.
Excelllent design, great condition
I travel out to play Raven's Claw (about 45 minutes) on a regular basis because it is so well-designed for play by most everyone. Each hole is different, and, though there are a few holes with houses nearby, there is a general sense of being out in the woods. Some holes (e.g., 2 and16) are relatively easy and straightforward. Others (e.g., 9 and 15) are immensely challenging and require your best game. The conditions right now are very good, with the large greens rolling smoothly and the fairways in excellent condition. The staff is helpful and friendly and the food in the grill is good and reasonably priced. High marks.
Always a Favorite
This area(15 mile radius) has a lot of courses. Ravens Claw is the best. Definitely worth the money.
