Oaks at Ft. Walton Beach Golf Club

Played the Oaks course and 16 of 18 greens were infested with nutsage.! No roll just bounce. Won’t be back. Wish I had taken pictures.

Layout was good , staff was friendly, pace was fine. The greens were covered in weeds. No chance at having a good round due to the ball not rolling true. No chance at sinking a putt.

Nutsage was everywhere on all the greens on the Oaks course. 16 of 18 were horrible. Putts bounced left/right over the weed. Don’t waste your time or money! I should have taken pictures. I won’t play here again.

Great course and well maintained. Enjoyed the round.

Overall, my playing partner and I had a good time however the pace of play was very slow. Having to turn into a foursome multiple times just to move at a somewhat normal pace.

The greens need a lot of work also, I'd go to putt and the ball would hit a piece of grass that's taller and alter the trajectory of the putt causing a miss.

This was my first time playing, it would be beneficial to have more signs as there is no true separation between the front and the back nine.

Course was reasonably priced, the t-boxes could use some work & not much offered in amenities.

I would still recommend the course to a friend.

Greens have a lot of cow patches. But course overall is in pretty good shape. Course needs to either have a ranger or sign telling inexperienced/ slower players to allow others to play through.

Prefiently technical. Great design older course has probably had thousands of rounds played on them but they are always right when I play thanks to the wonderful staff of the facility

Poor course conditions and greens were horrible. Don’t bother lining up your putt. Grass and weeds coming through the putting surface. Pace of play was horrid and they don’t make sure that othe golfers tee off at the appropriate time ie their actual tee time. I was to tee off at 9:52 and the group set for 10 tees off before me. A group of 15 that were playing 5 people per group… pace of play was awful. Overall very unpleasant experience and won’t be back. I play twice a week and wanted to try a new course and wish I never did. Don’t waste your money or your time at this course.

Showed up 45 minutes early to check in and go to the range and putt. Pull up to the first tee for my tee time and I’m extremely punctual (tee time 9:52) and a large group of players that were to tee off at 10 were allowed to play early in front of my group. If that wasn’t enough the course was over booked. Was told to start on the back 9 holes first. So I did and was having a good time shooting a 44 on the back 9. For me 8 over isn’t half bad. However, on one of the holes the grounds crew were using trailers with blowers on them and never got out of the way or turned them off for my tee shot. Very unprofessional in my opinion. I normally play 18 holes in just over 3 hours and the course was so packed that it nearly 5 hours to finish. On top of that, after my first hole l I didn’t even bother lining up my ball with line on it. That is because the greens were sprouting weeds\regular grass throughout the greens which made it extremely bumpy. Over all the course isn’t worth the discounted price I payed through GolfNow nor my time. I’m not a scratch golfer, though typically hit in the mid 80’s. However, certain things are expected a steady pace of play and greens you can actually putt on….

If you’re looking for a casual place to get a round in, this was a nice course. Very wide open, good beginners and practice course as well. Wide open fairways. Heard the course will physically look nicer in about a month when it turns more green. Would play again
