Staff
The staff are horrid. They are rude and only respect members, anyone else they are rude to for no reason. The course is alright for it being so cheap to play. I would never recommend this course to any one specifically for the staff. But who knows maybe you catch them on a good day and they are nice.
Course was as good as you can get for winter golf
Course was good. The course is good for not losing balls. Very easy to find balls in woods if you live in the woods like i do. Front 9 was being worked on but that was listed in this app and at course. I had gotten a hot deal for one because there was only one. The guy behind the counter was a little hesitant for me to play a single which is understandable. By the time i teed off there was no one in front and no one behind so i’m not sure what he was hesitant about. Either way a good experience today and a week ago when i played.
Golf
Could only golf 9 on the oaks because of a major renovation on the other 9 . Had to do the front 9 twice to get 18 in, which was fine. It didn’t slow play at all.
Couldn’t ask for more
Nice course , well maintained, super courteous staff.
Oaks Course in Great Shape
I've been playing FWB for many years. On this day I played the Oaks. Course was in the best shape I've seen in a very long time. Fairways had plenty of grass. More importantly, the greens were in great shape and rolled consistently. Normally the greens are like velcro and shaggy so this was a HUGE improvement! Looking forward to playing the Pines to see if it has also improved.
Disappointed
Everything about the course is great except course conditions. Fairways are super thin on grass and the greens are sloooooow and bummmmmmpy! No excuses ever for those conditions. Misplaced priorities by course management team.
Disappointed
You would think with all the increased play and revenue because of Covid they would at least have the greens and fairways in better shape. Greens are way slow and bumpy beyond belief. Fairways are very thin in the grass dept. With all the demolition taking place it appears money is being Budgeted for other projects at the expense of course conditions. The greens are awful and the fairways are not far behind. I can remember when it was in a lot better shape a few years back. My guess is money and politics are driving budgets for this municipal course.
Great public course
Will be going more often. Haven't played it in about 6 years. Better than u remember.
Perfect price for a perfect day
The Oaks at Fort Walton Beach is a fair course with only about 3 quite challenging holes. The course lays itself out in a way that is less convenient for walking, but not impossible . It is nice to know that your money will go a long way to a nice round of golf!
Ft. Walton Beach Oaks
This is our 10th year to visit the Florida Panhandle. And this is by far the best condition yet for the Fort Walton Beach Oaks layout. We’re going to play the Pines next week. Looking for an equal improvement.
My go to course
FWB both Pines and Oaks are great courses for the price. The course is always well maintained with only minor issues usually on the greens depending on the time of year which is normal for a municipal course. There a always a few bad eggs that don’t treat the course respectfully and the staff does it’s best but with the amount of players it is what it is. I’ve never had a terrible time playing here and it’s always well priced and the perfect course for beginners and new players.
Great value
The Oaks course is tight and a challenge for most players. The greens are in good condition and are a challenge to read properly. Overall a great value for the area and I will be back.
Great course for the money
Great course for the money. Can be a little slow at times but the course is in good condition.
