Nice public course
It’s a great layout and greens were in good condition although very slow . Fairways were ok and rough well it was rough. Pace of play was excellent and we played 18 holes in about 3 1/2 hours.
Nice Public Course.
Nice course for the money. Conditions were pretty good. The layout is pretty vanilla, and the greens are pretty basic. My main issue was that the greens were incredibly slow. Like shag carpet slow. Very difficult to get used to. I’d play it again, but would not pay more than thirty dollars with a cart.
Best golf in the area
My family and I have been coming to the Fort Walton Beach area for the past five years now. During those five years we have played multiple courses in the immediate Fort Walton area. I have to say that Fort Walton Beach (Public) Golf Course is an amazing, well maintained, and phenomenal course to play. In my opinion it’s hands down the best course that we have played in the five years coming here. We look forward to many more rounds of golf on these two courses (Pine, Oaks).
Really for the Pines
Actually played the Pines course. Pace of play was outstanding. The Greens had been top-dressed with sand - so their speed was VERY inconsistent - some decent - some super slow. Should have told us about the greens before we paid for the round.
I loved this course. Well maintained, and nice layout. Definitely will be playing here again.
Great course
I normally play the Pines Course but really enjoyed the Oaks. Rewards good drives and plays tough if you miss the fairway. Pines is a lot more forgiving. Oaks is the shorter of the two course but I think more interesting. Either way FWB Golf Course is well worth the reasonable rates the charge. Great courses to bring visitors.
Great for the money!!
You get what you pay for and then some definitely worth the money you pay to play
Fun course
It was a fun course for a below average golfer, like myself. Not many areas to lose a ball and staff was friendly. Easy going course with no Marshall. Course wasn’t too busy and any slower players had no problem letting a smaller group play through.
Rain
This is the first time I have played this course, was impressed with the condition of the greens and the course overall. I will be going back to play it and the other 18 as well. You can’t beat the price.
Good course for the money
I played the Oaks Course. It was challenging with a lot of dog legs but not a lot of places to lose your ball. The greens were healthy but slow. The fairways were fair condition. The clubhouse had bare bones minimum to purchase. The people were nice.
