Good Course but poor setup

First time going here and went with my father who is getting older. Course was good and well maintained but no golf shop opened on the weekend which was very strange. Went to to bar and the girl behind the bar said it didn't open on Saturdays and work away on what time you'd booked.

Asked to get one of the numerous carts outside for my father but she said they were all booked for a competition. I had my doubts they were all booked. Said we would do 9 and go in again and see if anyone dropped a cart in. But another girl behind the bar said no Carts are back. Yet about 10 carts still hadnt moved since the morning. We continued on but the course is very hilly and my father struggled by the end. Got back and realized loads of carts had not moved. Really felt the girls behind the bar were left manage the place for the day and didn't care one but about it. Other than that the course was good and long with plenty of challenges. Not sure if I'd go back.

A hidden gem

Ive been lucky enough to play a lot of ounces in Ireland and just stumbled across Mountrath yesterday. Have to say it is a hidden gem. The layout is superb with great use of elevations, with holes flowing both left to right and right; greens are strategically placed at angles and elevations. They are quick, subtle and very fair. Fairways were in excellent condition. I highly recommend ..

Fantastic course for the money, nice challenging layout, hilly course at roughly 200 metres of asent

Well worth the venture. Brilliant layout 👏 greens in Brilliant condition kudos to the green staff

Worth a visit

Up there with the best greens I've ever putted on. Very nice course, some very challenging shots but a very scoreable course. Difficult to find someone to check us in and no pro-shop is a disappointment but other than that, an enjoyable days golfing

Will definitely be back.

Very good

Course was in superb condition for the first week of November , well maintained greens running nice and cut that day. A few leaves but that’s to be expected ! Plenty of work ongoing on the course and tee boxes in great condition.
