Amazing
Absolutely the best course I’ve played at an unbelievable price. First class facilities, friendly and hassle free. The course is without doubt Championship standard, a fair test for average golfer and absolutely stunning from start to finish. Top class! One of the best in Ireland and a true credit all involved.
Wet
Lovely course layout, extremely wet and soggy everywhere. No rain on the day but the course in very wet condition for the time of year. Greens nice but everywhere else was poor
Hidden Gem
Thoroughly enjoyed the course and the experience of Concra Wood. I was very pleased, having invited a guest from England to play the course for the fi
I only scored course conditions as ‘Good’ for two reasons:
1. The course was very soft and the grass on the fairways left long so no run on the ball. This is not a criticism and was to be expected given extensive heavy rainfall in the local area over the past month.
2. On fairways that had been mown, grass clippings had not been collected and looked a little unsightly.
Greens were in very good condition despite recent weather conditions and it is still very early in the season.
Great day out highly recommended
Great day out highly recommended 👌 staff 100 % . And very welcoming . Corse is on real love the place
St Paddy's Day
Great course at stunning location. Weather was poor so unable to appreciate the views. Very wet under foot but greens in good condition. Very friendly staff and great food in clubhouse. We will return when the weather improves.
Unplayable
Course was unplayable and represented a health and safety issue but left was open for play. Slipped on a mudd slide on the first hole, and multiple times after, could have very easily hurt myself. Did not complete 18 holes due too poor conditions, Played on only because other parties in group wanted to continue. Represents mentality of management to allow play for money rather than safety. Would never play again. Would never recommend this course to anyone, text message day before only mentioned pick and place and bunkers out of play. Nothing about being completely waterlogged and practically unplayable from most positions. Agreed in group to move ball penalty free when in a position which was deemed unplayable. Very disappointed overall
Wow!
A magnificent course in superb condition for the end of February. Help professional golf and clubhouse staff.
Fantastic
Excellent value for money on a top notch golf course
Beautiful
Great condition for the time of year. Wonderful layout and scenery. A long walk with a few hills but we'll worth it.
Nice layout, terrible pace of play.
This was the second time I played Concra Wood. The layout is excellent with some challenging holes- particularly the par 5s along the lough, which offer a nice risk/ reward element. The conditions were acceptable for January, once you get pst the first hole, where I lost 2 balls to plugging.
The thing that was most annoying was the pace of play. I was a single golfer on this occasion so delays can always be expected and I wasn’t in any real rush. Unfortunately the two 3 balls in front played at an 18 hole pace of 5hrs30mins and 5hrs. I had lunch in the clubhouse in between tee times and reported the issue as a Marshall cart was parked out the back. This wasn’t used at all and the pace was clearly accepted. Despite my lunch break, I managed to catch one 3 ball on the 11th green, although they let me play through on the 12th tee. The other group of members, in front of whom there was no one, didn’t offer this at all. I therefore had an extremely tedious round and despite enjoying the layout (and playing some decent golf), won’t have Concra Wood on the radar to return to anytime soon due to the awful pace of play.
