could be nice course
This course I have played several times and each time I had high hopes that they would start improving it... They should either fix this course or shut it down....The fairways are in really bad shape.... The greens are in horrible shape, they have lots of bare spots and filled in spots with green stuff.. Next to Cypresswoods golf course this is next in line for a waste of money to play it....
It's really to bad this could be a great course as I've been told it was many years ago a top course in the area..... DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE
Needs much improvement
East course is in need of a lot of work. Fairways were mostly mud and weeds. Greens had bare spots and were topdressed so sandy. Tees had been overseeded. At least it was quick and cheap. Few holes I could see on South course looked better.
what's going on with the greens
played a couple weeks ago an the greens were filling in nicely, but Friday they looked worse and were very bumpy, now they also need to treat for the many weeds emerging from excessive water from the hurricane. I have patience but don't rise prices until you get this under control
Getting better
We have played Greenlefe several times over the years, there are signs of improvement here. It looks like money is being invested and the south course is due to reopen.
The East course is good value for money, the greens could do with some extra attention, but they are reasonable and roll well.
Try it for yourself, well worth a visit.
Beautiful Golf in Haines City
The East Course is getting better every week, since the Hurricane. I love the scenery with the tropical woods and lakes, scattered among the condos. The staff is friendly and the price is a great value compared to other courses in the area. The greens are putting nice and will be over-seeded soon. The fairways look good and I love the layout with challenging holes and varied distances. I can't wait for their South Course to open soon. Give this course a try.
Better
We played the EAST course not the south. The course is in better condition than last year but still not very good but what do want for $13.00 a round?
We rent on the Grenelefe, so the east course is easy to get to but we look forward to the south course opening. It is much better.
Great course
The course was in great condistion conpaired to the few course I have played this holiday. The staff were great and very helpful.
Would recommend that you play this course.
Best bang for buck
I live 30 min from this course but never would have found it with out Golf Now. What a treasure. Keep in mind my review is based on the value aspect. I’ve paid twice the amount to play a nine hole course with horrid conditions.
First two holes are narrow and the woods are right off the fairway with a narrow rough. I lost a few balls. You have to play smart and stay on the fairway.
Pros: Decent tee boxes and fairways. Greens are 50/50. Some run fast some slow and a few are pitted. Staff was very friendly. I would have loved to play this course in the 80’s but I probably couldn’t afford it back then. I had nobody behind me so I took my sweet time and still finished in under three hours.
Cons: They appear to be extremely understaffed on the course so maintenance must be difficult with two courses. Not much to offer for food from what I saw. There is a bar. The whole place is like Brigadoon and hard to find but the course is easy to follow once you’re there.
I will be looking for hot deals to play again.
East Course Rating
The layout is excellent. Most all cleaned up from the hurricane. The greens need some work, but overall course is good.
Good value, great layout
I liked the layout of the course very much. Every hole is different.
Some greens could be in better shape, The fairways were good to play.
I am talking about the course for $25, so don’t expect fairways and greens like on the $100 course.
Course Improvement
been playing Grenelefe awhile times, found the course has improved and the greens are coming along nicely. Lot has been done since the storms.
Returned to play and not disappointed
Have not played the course for a couple of years but pleasantly surprised that despite the recent hurricane damage which was evident the course was not in to bad condition. Joined up with another visitor who was playing course for the first time and he was very impressed with the layout. Very friendly staff and a great day's golf. Will plan to play it again before returning to the UK. Certainly recommend this course.
Better than the last time i was there. greens had a few bad spots but not many compared to others i have played in the area. fairways were full and roughs were tough.
TUESDAY GOLF GAME
THE STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY. THE COURSE IS DRYING UP FROM H. ERMA . THE GREENS ARE GOOD AND GETTING BETTER. THE LAYOUT IS GREAT.WE ALL HAD A LOT OF FUN. WE DID PLAY THE EAST COURSE.
Complete turnaround
Play this course 3 weeks ago, needed a lot of care and that's exactly what it got, the greens completely have turned around and become solid and nice to play on and the water has receded dramatically. A shout out to the staff that has been doing great work on this course, will be back soon
