Disappointing
Not overly impressed, course not in a great condition and would not rush back
Challenging small greens, some tight fairways
This course has weathered some bad times in past and especially during Hurricane Emma. They have trees all cleaned up, working to get water pumped down in some low spots. Fairways are best I've seen is some time and rough is now manageable.
Excellent clean up of Hurricane Irma damage.
Played several times. They've done a great job restoring the course after Hurricane Irma passed through central Florida recently.
The large trees that were downed have been removed. The few areas where water tends to stand are being pumped down. The lake banks are being trimmed of tall vegetation and the roughs are mowed at a level which allows one to play from them.
Great course in its day
A great layout but due to todays financial climate a bit run down. It must have been good in its day but fairways & greens need a lot of attention. I hope the members come back and more visitors play which will generate income to help their funds. It was a cheap round and we enjoyed it but would have gladly paid more if course was in better condition.
Trees Down
Hurricane Irma did a job on the stately old oak trees. Many of the trees are blown down.
Unfortunately, either the course management did not notify GolfNow or GolfNow did not see fit to alert players that the front nine was closed due to excessive water on several fairways (hole #2 in particular.) This is the third time in the last 1-1/2 months that my foursome has arrived at a course to fine out that half the course was closed. Not good!
The Grenelefe staff has done a good job getting the back nine ready on the East course, but some of the greens need a lot of work and not because of the hurricane. Some of the greens have spots with no grass or weeds growing on the greens.
Needs work
My group has been playing the East course frequently for the past year or more. In the spring and first part of summer, the course was in pretty decent condition. But in the last couple of weeks it has gone downhill. The fairways are almost as much dirt as grass. The greens have taken a bad hit, and that's a shame because they had been pretty darn good. I know that the course isn't making much, if any, profit during the off season, but the worse the course gets, the fewer players will be willing to play -- at any cost. I'm sorry, but I just really cannot recommend this course to anyone at this time.
It was in horrible shape due to extensive week of rain
Eh!
I played the East course. The South course is closed for the summer. The conditions were pretty bad. The greens were splotches of grass. The tees and fairways. I often had to pick my ball up on the fairways to place it on a patch of grass. It appeared like there had been no maintenance to the course in days, if not weeks. But price, $14, was great. So I got what I paid for.
Grenelefe
I would avoid this course for a few months. The fairways were non existence in many areas. The greens were brown in many spots. You can tell in it's day this was a great course. The course needs significant work before I would recommend you play.
Great time!
The staff was very pleasant. The course was good, there was no rushing
or waiting...it was Great. I saw 3 Bald Eagles, numerous Osprey and Sandhill Cranes.
It was a very relaxing and enjoyable morning!
Money not well spent
This course should be closed and no one spend their hard earned money on this track what a shame to let such a nice course layout to go to weeds, mud no proper grass left on fairways dotted with weeds rough is all weeds greens and tee boxes are full of weeds and dying shame on management to accept golfers money for this ? I played 8 yrs ago it was not too bad and played it 25 years before it was a great course I guess it will go the away as did Diamond Back across the street as derelict patch of ground
Golf now should HIGHLITE Conditions
We booked at this course and after a 35 min drive we arrived to be told that jeans was NOT acceptable dress code.
THESE CONDITIONS OF PLAY SH0ULD BE HIGHLIGHTED
