Good value
Arrived at 7:30 for a 7:45 tee time. Parking lot was packed. I was a little concerned, but upon check in at the pro shop, the gentleman working laughed and said there was a tournament on south course and we were fine. We were the first off the tee and played at a comfortable pace (we are weekend hackers) with no one pushing us. Course was in good shape. Tees, fairways and greens were fine, not professional player grade, but neither is my game. Staff was very friendly and helpful, course was challenging but not overpowering and the price was good. Overall a great value and a fun day. Looking forward to playing here again.
Played this course twice last year, good test of golf, nice layout. The course looked a little tired this year.
Good price
The price was very good through golfnow.com. The fairways had no grass on them, always looking for grass to hit off of. The greens were ok, had a lot of bad spots and the course has a big problem with sand hill cranes digging (big) holes on them. Even with that said, our group enjoyed the day and the staff were very nice.
improved from last year
played the course last march and found it to be in terrible shape. I would not go back again last year. Gave it a chance this year and found the condition to be much improved. Would play it again. the south course is a much better layout and will play it next week.
Worth the price
We have a foursome which has played the East course several times recently. With a few exceptions, the greens are in pretty good shape. We want to play the South course but will have to wait until the summer rates kick in.
Needs Some TLC
This course was excellent last year when we last played it. Greens are in rough shape now and fairways need some over seeding. Very sparse.
Enjoyable round
We arrived at the course a little early. While getting ready to play, the starter was having a conversation with another guest. The guest was telling the starter that he couldn't let us out because they had the course booked for a mimi shotgun 15 minutes after our start time. We had already been told to load up and go. We went to the tee box to tee off. Before we teed off the starter came to us and asked us to tee off on 10 instead of 1. We did as we were asked and everything went fine. The starter handled the situation very well. Some of the greens were not in the best shape, but overall the course was not that bad. Will play the course again. Staff was well trained to handle situations that come up.
No Grass
We were able to play in less than 3 hours. Not much grass on fairways and the greens were in poor condition
Great Golf for a great Price
Golf course has some narrow fairways if you miss them forget your ball. Fairways were in good shape greens need work. They are not terrible but have some bare spots.
great relaxing day of golf.
decent course starts out narrow then opens up greens ok fairways decent
Course needs attention
I've played this course a few times in the past, but the conditions of the course are much worse than they have ever been, fairways and greens have a lot of bare areas... the pace of play is slow, was playing in a foursome and we had to wait on practically every single tee box up to 10 minutes on a couple of them.
Bad Greens, everything else was OK
The course has a very nice layout, and is very, very scenic. Not a hard course at all, with open fairways, not much water to worry about, and few and minor carries to get over. The problems arise once you hit the greens. They are some of the worst I’ve ever played on. Only one or two had an actual grass carpet. The rest of the greens had a crust with bare spots, sand, and the worst - scabs of dead grass you were supposed to putt over! The fairways had some crabgrass but you can forgive that. The tee boxes were so-so - some good and some not. We played on a Sunday afternoon and it was not crowded - I know why…
dont waste your $
Fairways are threadbare and wet...any shot with modest trajectory will be a mud ball when it lands. Greens are an embarrassment...one will stimp at 15 or faster and the next will be a 7 to 9 or less, lots of scalped and dry mud areas, if you happen to find a greenside bunker odds are your ball will be in the heelprint of a size 13 shoe or one of dozens not raked by etiquette ignorant players. If you are part of a 4some..plan on twosomes on your heels all round and add the time to let them thru...we had to let 4 groups pass of twosomes..added about 45 mins to the round. Good layout but terrible condition in every aspect...has been the play heavy side until the South opened recently...spend the xtra $ and play the South...great layout and in good shape.
$5 will get you a small bucket of range balls that look like they were refugees of a putt putt course, dimple faded knuckleballs, junk pond balls etc. Warmup only but dont expect to work on the game.
Grenelefe east golf
I read the reviews for this course and all of them were pretty positive however all of them were from 2015 and earlier I decided to try it out and was very disappointed. I played the east course and it's a cow pasture! Greens were partly covered with sand and patches of grass. The fairways are just brutal, patches of grass and very rough riding. This course is definitely not worth the drive or the price, even if it was only $30
Fez 2017
West Gate Property
The property was purchased by West Gate(a time share company) that used to have three courses now down to two. The club house is is rough shape, except for the renovated part which looks like an up scale hotel lobby, apparently the renovation has stopped for some reason. This property could be a premiere place to play if they start the renovations again, but I have had experiences with this company (WG) and they don't impress me. Maybe they will sell and some one with golf ownership should buy it and save this place. Look forward to seeing what transpires but will not return till something happens
Excellent value for the $
We found the course value outstanding for the cost.
Great Value
Overall great value for $15. The course has a great layout and is a great escape from the busy tourist areas. Good to see conditions improving the course making a comeback, fun course to play!
