Course in so so condition
I played by myself early morning. There was no one on the East course so I played in about 2 hours. The course in not in good condition. Some of the greens were burnt out and had many bare patches. They were also covered with dew. For $15 it was worth playing. I would not pay any more to play there.
DEPLORABLE CONDITION
The Grenelefe East course was in a deplorable condition. Fairways had little grass on them and the few greens were basically just mud in places. The clubhouse is falling apart; and,. is in a bad stage of repair. I would not recommend this course to anyone at any price. Apparently, the owner doesn't care what the place looks like.
extremely slow, 9x 4 balls on first 8 holes
no notice of ladies day. all 18 holes had a 4 ball playing on it. They should have declared block bookings on this day, which is prob every week on a Wednesday as comp day
greneleaf east
greens where poor shape, needed water
Needs investment baldly
Sad but this course is only just playable, needs huge investment NOW.I will not be playing it again until I hear this has happened.
What Happened?
I play this course every time I'm in the area...quite enjoy the layout, BUT, maybe best to avoid this time around. The greens are in very bad shape...! burnt out and very little grass....
This course has good "bones"
Unfortunately, the entire infrastructure has fallen into complete disrepair. The greens are like putting on pot hole filled asphalt and the course maintenance is almost non-existent. It's too bad because it's very obvious that the Grenelefe Golf and Tennis Resort was, once upon a time, one of the premier resorts in the State of Florida. It's really sad.
Course is in need of some maintenance but you get what you pay for.
Pro is very friendly and helpful.
Course is not the best in terms of condition but is playable and provided we can get the same deal we will go again.
We were a twosome and a four ball let us through on the first tee and we never had to wait.
All in all was a good day and good value.
Second Time Around
We haven't played this course since April or May. I saw on positive review dated 9/25/2016, that said the course was a good layout but some of the greens were questionable! We really enjoyed playing today. The weather was beautiful, the fairways were great and the greens were really good. Some were a little fast but, we know for next time how to proceed. Only problem is it's 45 minutes from our house but, we will go back again.
Grenelefe great layout
Great layout and need your A game
Shame about condition of a few greens
Walking dead
This course is the walking dead of courses played there last year and it was bad enough , was passing this year and played and things have gone from bad to worse
Felt like lone survivor in a show , no staff or green keepers hardly any players all the houses around were vacant and in need of renovation just like the course
I'm a Westgate owner and I believe the ceo David seigal also bought grenelefe for regeneration and was forcing all the residence out to redevelope whole site which seems to be happening
So give it a few years keep and eye on the place and if westgates make it into golf resort it should be fabulous though that's a long way off I'd avoid it till then
Great course for the money
I play here a couple times a week and the course is in a fair schape the greens a bit patchy and hard to put but they starter and pro schop guy,s are great for the money they money a great course especially wen you get a tee time on golf now
This course is terrible
When we drove up there were 3 cars in the lot,bad sign and course is bad from tee to green.guy at the carts was not to happy about us with an 8 year old gave us a hard time about not paying for him.told him about 5 times he was with us when we checked in at the pro shop.needs to worry about staying open .never will we go back.
don't waste your money
We played this course along with the South this past winter/spring and was in pretty good shape. Something has happened to the course that is not worth paying $25. There are weeds growing in the fairways and the rough has not been mowed for awhile.
Fairways need attention....
The fairways had a lot of clusters which stops your ball from rolling further. The layout is great, nice and open, greens were good - just the fairways need some weeding. Will play there again.
need more water for drinking
course is very good, but I think more water stations are needed especially in the summer heat. went for a drink after golf and found the door to the lounge locked at 3:15pm.
Improving each year
Challenging course good layout greens slow but playable played here each year for the last four years improving each year see you next year
Great layout.
Great layout. Must have been fantastic in its hey day.
comming back
the last couple times I have played here it is coming back to the condition i remember. Greens putted good but a bit slow.. very smooth however. fairways were good. tees just ok.
