Very Poor Conditions
I've always wanted to try this place out. I was highly disappointed with the conditions. The tee boxes were not cut. The greens were very slow and not cut. The fairways were decent. I would never refer anyone that I liked to play here.
Grenelefe Greens
Without doubt the worst I have seen at Grenelefe I havent played the South course this year but the east was one step away from a field. Do they ever water the greens? The worst greens I have ever seen period.
My round at Grenelefe
I was a little disappointed by the overall condition of both the course and the facilities.
bad conditions
played here after a long time being closed for renovations supposedly and the course was in the worst shape i've ever seen it the greens and fairways were scalped and it looked that the renovation was letting the grass grow to 2 or 3 inches and then cutting it down don't play here without checking on the course by going there and seeing it first. maybe it will come back but i doubt it
Grenelefe East
After 11:00, this time of the season, you have your own private, little country club..Course not "spectacular", but greens, fairways, tees all average or above. If you play the light green tees...course is a good test of golf...
Grenelefe
Played course many times. Fairways and greens were seemed not to be in Golf Resort condition for this round. Otherwise, everything great.
Don't waste your time
I was excited because this was supposed to be an Arnold Palmer Designed course, so we drove down to Haines City from Kissimmee to give it a try due to the cheap rates. What a disappointment!! Don't waste your time, might be the worst golf course I have ever played. Don't know if they even employ a greenskeeper the greens were so bad, ball was literally bouncing 3" off the ground on some longer putts. Its too bad the design is actually pretty good, but the execution of the staff on the course is brutal. Don't spend your money here....
Worth the money
Course was in rough shape Front side greens were not cut.
Great course for the money
Excellent speed for round. Average conditions for Florida. Excellent value.
Uneven maintainence
You start off with 3 holes of blah and the rest has such potential that it's disappointing. This course could be so much better than it is! The greens are not true, the bunkers are "good" at best. Fairways are in pretty good shape, but tee boxes are worn. At the 19th, the beer is cold and the service is friendly. With a little work, this could be a "destination" course.
Great golf course
I loved playing this golf course. I would recommend this golf course to anyone to play.
Greens
The greens were slow and a few need help. Over all it was above average for the money
Barely hanging on...
I don't normally like writing bad reviews but...
Way off the beaten path. Little confusing getting to the course. Clubhouse and grounds are run down to the point it doesn't look like it should be open. Parking lot and lead in are just awful. Pro shop lady wasn't very talkative or nice. The rough is nothing but weeds and the greens are in need of some help, very grainy, slow and spotted. The fairways we're all that bad but that's about it for positives. It's a shame because the course has potential but you can certainly tell lack of funds is going to close this place soon. Won't be going back.
Grenelefe has improved year on year
We have played the East course over many years and it is now in the best condition we have ever seen. The fairways and greens were in excellent condition though the fairways were a little wet in places due to recent heavy rain. All in all, great value for money
Good value for money
The overall condition of the course was acceptable but not great. Some of the greens had patches and marks in them and played quiet slow but for the price that we paid it was well worth playing.
Nice place to play
Had a pleasant round in good condition. Greens in very good shape.
Hawkeye fan
Over our visits to Grenelefe I would say the course design is great and the condition average but very playable. We wished the greens would be faster would be our only negative comment. We play 36 holes a day and got great rates thru Golf Now. The gentlemen we met in the Pro Shop were congenial and helpful. If you are a golfer and want good golf holes at a great price play these courses. If you are looking to be awed by amenities you will be disappointed.
worth a visit
40mins from Orlando, signage near the course could be better. Booked East course but was sent out on South which I was told is slightly easier. Fairways good, sand in bunkers could be better. Ladies tees generally need improving. Greens true. Visually very good with plenty of variety, some housing in places, mostly not a problem. No proper changing facilities. Will return to play the East course
