Underwhelming
My 1st impression was that it was a course from a low-budget movie about golf, like Caddyshack and everything seems to still be in the 60's-70's. Everything is just very dated and several buildings that appear to have been abandoned.
I played the East course as there was another course closed. My biggest problem was the yardages on the course because the sprinkler heads didn't have covers, which meant the only yardages I got was the 150yd marker. The greens were decent and considering everything else, they were probably the best part of the course. The fairways were just OK.
To me, the course looks like someone decided to build a golf course in their backyard and did. I'm sure back in the day it was a great course, but today...not so much. At least it wasn't busy, so I got my round done in 2 hours.
The course need TLC bad
The greens have more weeds then grass, the fairways have a lot of weeds
Good for the price
Reasonably well maintained. A few of the greens need some work to get rid of grab grass and fungus.
Not too bad
Absolutely loved the layout and was pleasantly surprised by a couple of holes. The greens are slow and yes, there’s some weeds on them. Also the tee boxes are full of weeds but that didn’t bother me. The green fee suits the course, don’t expect a top course but it certainly has its charm.
Great layout but in terrible condition
I'm sure this course was great back in the day.
The layout is great with some lovely driving holes.
The greens are in very bad shape, no roll out at all.
The tee boxes are worse. The fairways are OK I suppose.
All in all I enjoyed the course but the condition is very poor, I would not play again unless I knew conditions had improved greatly.
Saturday outing
Weather was nice a little windy but pleasant. The course was in good shape for all the rain we have been getting. The greens were good a touch slower than in the past but good The fairways were good and of course lay out is great I love the East course. A good time was had by all. Good job.
Worth playing, very good conditions
East Course In very good shape right now (oct). Tees fairways and greens. Last season the south course was fantastic. Can hardly wait for it to open again, usually around Xmas. Worth playing, never crowded. (unfortunately)
Bfgolfer
3 stars overall bease of layout, staff and value. Course not in good shape. Sad that this great venue is being treated with the minimum $$ to barely keep this afloat. Please Mr Siegel. ...rescue this great golf property.
Not in the best shape. Seen much best course
Merci
Good value
Hey if you want a game of golf for less bucks then this is the course for you. Well laid out but already showing signs of a lack of patrons. Hopefully it will return to its former glory.
Grenelefe , a phenomenal course
I played the course 3 weekends in a row. Each outing was just as great as the one before. I am recommending this course to my friends and associates as an enjoyable getaway experience. Hit them well. Thanks
Sunday outing
The course was in pretty good shape. The greens were a little slow. Fairways were good shapes good time was had by all.
Better then expected
Greens were in good condition, pace of play was excellent. With South course closed thought it would be crowded, will play again soon.
Playable
All the staff were great, very customer service oriented. Course is in ok shape and is playable just weed infested but again playable. The greens are ok pretty grainy but rolled ok for the most part. The surroundings are a bit depressing, the clubhouse is in disrepair and in dire need of renovation. If someone invests this place would be back on the map until then little sad.
Loved the Course
I loved playing the course. the greens are nice and fairways are tight.
Always enjoyed
Another couple of good visits to the East Course during my 2 week vacation to the area from the UK. Friendly, chatty starter. I will always play the course when I visit the area.
Very tired property. Looks almost abandoned.
This place looks almost like it was abandoned many years ago. While the staff were very friendly and professional, the course itself has probably had better days and might be the least of attractive course I've played in Florida.
