Golfer Reviews
Buy the Course Book if no GPS.
Challenging course to play the first time. Ravines galore, sloping fairways, and rolling greens, all surrounded by incredible views. Conditions were very good, save for some areas that were over watered and soft. Recommend you add this course to the list.
No beverage cart on the day we played. Local/resident seniors made the pace of play slow, but the views will consume the extra time (5 1/2 hrs. on a Sat.).
Great views. Good condition .
An excellent course in unique surroundings. Good shape. Challenging holes.
Difficult Fairways
Most fairways are "crowned" or severely slope to one side & into a dry ravine. This makes positioning your ball a premium shot.
One of the Best in Tucson Area
My wife and I with friends played 18 holes. We live in Green Valley, AZ. Loved the course., conditions and ease of play. The course is very well maintained. It is a long drive from our home but we will definitely be back, on a regular basis. Very well worth the green fees.
Beautiful Course
Beautiful course and club house facilities. We enjoyed the all aspects of this course. Play was great, food was great and the service was very good and the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
great time
Golf course is beautiful, great greens, everything was great.
Thanks
Worth the haul from San Tan Valley
This is a hidden gem of a course 70 miles from my house in the San Tan Valley and I would not hesitate to visit it again. The greens were in tip top shape and the fairways well maintained with some narrow ones that will challenge even the best of golfers. Every hole has a magnificent vista of the Catalina's and are all different, one of the par 3's is carved into the mountain over a valley of cactus and with that view the 7 that I took was because I was enjoying the view too much.
Absolutely one of the best values in Oracle Valley and gives the Scottsdale Troon courses a run for their money, and they are only 65 miles from me!
Club selection is key
An excellent course in great condition. Depending on your tee selection it can be a little tight. Club selection is key and you will use every club in the bag. Beautiful setting and very quiet. Have played it four times and will play it again.
Pristine scenic beauty
OK guys, how about writing COURSE reviews instead of "terrible experience, no shirts in pro shop my size"? So here's the golf COURSE experience. First off this is a challenging desert course so bring a game. Usually courses have 1 or 2 signature holes if they are lucky. This has about 10 of them especially from the tips where you are teeing off from some VERY elevated tees with spectacular views. Zero boring holes. Course conditions are excellent with truly flawless greens that are medium speed at about 8 or 9 on the stimpmeter. Very good driving range area with a practice chipping green with nice undulations so arrive early to get in some extra practice in besides long game and putting. Range balls were very inexpensive being under $4. Don't let some of the low tee time prices fool you. This is a top notch course in every way with staff being very relaxed and friendly.
Preserve 3/15
The preserve affords you the opportunity to use every club in your bag. It also provides you with plenty of risk reward holes to keep your focus. The conditions of the tee boxes, fairways and greens were excellent. The location of the course is awesome . Situated at the base of the Catalina Mtns. With views of the bio-sphere to the north, open range cattle, and the sound of a babbling mountain brook are more then worth the price of admission.
Could have been better
There were rangers on the course, but it was still a 5 hour round. It is an excellent track, but that pace of play was brutal. I played The Quarry Pines Course on Friday and it was short of 4.5 hours, and I feel that is reasonable this time of year. Five hours is NEVER reasonable.
very nice, scenic course - great pace of play
Visiting from Chicago. Played as a twosome on 3/18/15 at 7:40am. Very well maintained course in the Saddlebrooke Ranch development just north of Tucson with moderate difficulty and nice scenery in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains.
It is a little difficult to find as GPS is not always accurate. Played in 3.5 hours!
I would highly recommend this course
Saddlebrooke Preserve Review
Course was crowded but still finished 18 in 4.5hrs. Ranger kept play moving. Greens were excellent...better than any I've played in the Tucson area. Course overall conditions were good even through the rough was not over seeded but fairways were very good. Ice and water available at several locations on the course with nice bathrooms under lock and key. Sand traps were inconsistent with amount and condition of sand.
one word, awesome!
Played the Preserve for the first time on March 14/15. The wind was up a bit so it added to the challange of this spectcular course.I have played several high-end courses in the Tucson area but this is by far the most beautiful and the best bang for the buck. The course is in excellent shape, great greens and fairways. The bunkers could be a little better but I wont complain at $54.00. I will make this a "must do" course when I have friends here for a visit. Well worth the hour drive to get there.
