Preserve Golf Course

Visiting from Chicago. Played as a twosome on 3/18/15 at 7:40am. Very well maintained course in the Saddlebrooke Ranch development just north of Tucson with moderate difficulty and nice scenery in the foothills of the Catalina Mountains.

It is a little difficult to find as GPS is not always accurate. Played in 3.5 hours!
I would highly recommend this course

Course was crowded but still finished 18 in 4.5hrs. Ranger kept play moving. Greens were excellent...better than any I've played in the Tucson area. Course overall conditions were good even through the rough was not over seeded but fairways were very good. Ice and water available at several locations on the course with nice bathrooms under lock and key. Sand traps were inconsistent with amount and condition of sand.

Played the Preserve for the first time on March 14/15. The wind was up a bit so it added to the challange of this spectcular course.I have played several high-end courses in the Tucson area but this is by far the most beautiful and the best bang for the buck. The course is in excellent shape, great greens and fairways. The bunkers could be a little better but I wont complain at $54.00. I will make this a "must do" course when I have friends here for a visit. Well worth the hour drive to get there.

The views are spectacular and the course is one of the more challenging in the area.

I have played 15 courses in Tucson and the preserve is by far my favorite

I played this course once before and enjoyed the setting with great mountain views. Had a friend in town from St. Louis and thought he would enjoy it. Unfortunately, it was very windy, which made a challenging course even more so. We're both around 14 handicap and we both lost 4 or 5 balls. Areas just off the fairways are steeply sloped and bare of grass, so even being slightly off line puts you in the desert or a ravine. The two guys in the shop were busy fixing a computer issue and totally ignored us as we stood in front of them at the counter. I'm being kind to say they were both grumpy. There is no food & beverage service here, short of getting a soda or beer from the grumpy guys in the shop. Disappointing for a quality facility. I'll probably play here again because I enjoy the setting, but I wouldn't want a steady diet of it.

Course is in great shape and offers fantastic views. Only two concerns; the pace of play was a bit slow but not terrible and second there are several holes where a hazard goes across fairway in hidden landing zone. got caught three time with very nice drives that ended up in the wash crossing fairway. No map on scorecard.

This course winds around the foothills canyons of the Catalina mountains with picturesque views from most holes. It seemed like more holes were downhill. You need to be careful in the downhill roll into hazards and ravines. There is no GPS provided so a course booklet for $ 2 is a good investment. The dormant grass does not stop balls from rolling. The only drawback to this round was 5 hours. They had people starting every 7 minutes. And the ranger could do little to speed it up. They have 5 set of tee boxes. And they have a chart on the card suggesting tee box based on your driving distance with several combo tee sets. I found this very helpful in choosing my poison.

For the money this is a beautiful course. Played with three folks from Canada and had a great time. Would love to play it again when I am in the Tucson area. Make sure you do not wear blue jeans because you are not allowed to wear denim on the course. Wear either shorts or nicer dress pants. Fortunately I had a pair of pants in my suitcase and I was able to change so I got to play.

first time to play the course. Played with someone who had been there before. Select the right set of tees for your play and it will be enjoyable. Beautiful vistas, not the standard desert view. Had a $2 yardage book which helped on the layout. plus some yardage.

A beautiful course. Several blind shots. Deep bunkers. Would like to play again.

A great course in a stunning location. Somewhat difficult, especially the par 3 on the front nine. I would play any time the opportunity presents itself.

great views, difficult at times, took me 4 shot to get out from under bunker lip on 1st hole, such a beautiful course it was only a minor blip on the radar

Vey good track but can be tough if you do not know the hidden troubles. Need to keep it on the fairway. Nice scenery to look atas you play .

awesome course every which way. great scenery, good topography changes in the course, excellent condition. only problem would be pace of play which was 5 hours

Played early on Sunday morning after booking on Golf Now. You will think you are in Montana on #15 when the river is running. Great value, very nice course!

Great course, golfed the front 9 holes rolled into the clubhouse to get a snack and a drink but it was locked up. If I was running the shop I would wait to go home when all the golfers had come in. Customer service counts ! That being said next time I will just take my own snacks and drinks.
