Golfer Reviews
Day in AZ sun
Pro shop was friendly and nice but obviously the person behind the desk had not played the course in a while. He thought the greens were fast, they were fuzzy and slow coming off aerating. The overall course was very good for June. The practice facility was very good. Did see 9 dear next to fairway.
Needs some layout signage
Had a great rate to play this course. Took nearly five hours to play, two groups ahead of us were very slow. The group behind us got upset with our group but we could not do anything. The marshall tried to get the groups ahead of us to move faster but no progress. The sand bunkers were very hard. There are NO signs at the start of each hole indicating what is in front and which direction the hole is after a turn in the fairway.
Almost Exellent
The greens had been aerated 7 days before and if we had know we would have waited another couple of weeks until they were back to their usual great shape.
Great approach shots were not rewarded due to putts being bumped off line.
My suggestion is to call the course direct before booking online.
Great target course
Tremendous mountain views and the course was in great shape!
Extremely windy with 35 mph gusts
Got to play with 3 other singles. Very pleasant except for the wind gusts which were impossible to guage how far left or right to aim.The course is in excellent condition and the greens are well tended.
A great course to play when one's lips are not slapping one's gums...
Greatly improved conditions
The course is in a very scenic location. We have played it once or twice a year over the last six years. The condition of the course has improved significantly in that time. I played from the Gold Tees and my wife played from the Platium/copper tees. We found that to be challenging and interesting. The score card has recommendations as to the tees to play which I would recommend to anyone who is not familiar with the course. I will continue to play the course as in the past.
the preserve at saddlebrooke
THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY AND
VERY HELPFUL. NOT AN EASY COURSE BUT
VERY CHALLENGING, WOULD LOVE TO PLAY THIS COURSE AGAIN.
True Desert Golf
There are a few required carries that the first timer should have a range finder or equivalent to determine how far to hit it or where they should lay up. Also quite a few bunkers that need to have yardage over or short figures to avoid. Overall a good test and course was in good shape. Greens had some undulations in them so be sure you bring your good putting stroke. Some of the most fantastic desert vista views in the area.
wonderful
Perfect in most every way. Wish I had joined here
ten years ago.
Beautiful course
This is a beautiful course. Well maintained. In excellent condition. The views of the Catalinas are phenomenal. I found The Preserve to be more of a challenge than most courses I've played in Tucson, which I especially enjoyed. The clubhouse is well maintained & beautiful as well.
The only category I rated below 5 stars was "Staff Friendliness". The reason for this is because of the woman I dealt with in the pro shop when I checked in. Not customer friendly by any stretch (well, perhaps to the members & also the male golfers). Not friendly nor helpful. Also was obviously miffed when I forgot to tell her we didn't need a cart. She definitely could use some customer service training.
Good Round
The course is very nice and well maintained. Several holes require less than driver so there is some target golf. Great mountain views, friendly staff. Pace of play was a slight problem. We had fast folks behind us and slow folks in front. Talked to the ranger about the folks behind and we didn't have any further difficulties. Staff made a point about following pace of play procedures so they are aware of a problem. We will play it again as it is worth the price.
Beauty at every hole
This is by far, one of the most challenging, yet beautiful courses I've ever played. I've played here once before and was anxious to return. The course demands precision on most every shot. Bring lots of balls as there's lots of trouble if you're not a "boring golfer" (down the center each time)!
bad day at golf
no beverage card. no ball washers, pro shop and restaurant close when got done at 4 PM. could not post my score or buy our hosts a drink.no bag boys to clean up clubs. lots of cigar and cigarette butts around greens and tee boxes.
A Beautiful Golf Course
Beautiful Course, always a little less hot than Tucson. Not far out of town in a beautiful setting. Always meet nice people when we are paired with others.
Challenging golf couse
Pick your level of play from different tees. Great golf course but no sand in traps
