Great Course, will play again!
Just overall a great course. Fairways and Greens were in great shape and lush!
Excellent golf course
A very good players course. there were some holes with blind hazards crossing the fairways. Those should be noted on a sign at the T-box, with distance to the blind hazard clearly marked.
Everything else, very very good.
The Preserve
I visited the Preserve for the first time. They have a very limited staff. No one at the bag drop. Only 1 person in the pro shop. I ask if there was a range and was told where it was. I had to come back to the Pro shop to buy a token for balls which I was not told when I inquired to where the range was. Started playing and on the 8th hole the ranger said that he wanted us to play faster because it was a 10 minute gap. There was no one behind us for 4 holes? What was his concern we did not hold anyone up. There was no cart girl on a Saturday?
Beautiful surroundings and views.
We come to the area every year and make a point to play the preserve. It is an interesting layout with plenty of ravines to snatch your ball.
Would like to try the course again.
Our foursome had the unfortunate experience of having a tee time on a day where weather conditions were quite cold (between 39-45 degrees during play) and windy. We ended up quitting as the weather worsened and the rain started after only 9 holes. Everyone agreed they still enjoyed the shortened round and would like to try the course again. Staff was friendly and the setting lovely.
Course itself is fun and in great shape.However.......
The course itself is a fun course and in great shape. However, one staff member (behind the desk) was extremely rude and unappreciative of our business. I will not be playing this course again anytime soon. The narrative of events are too lengthily to elaborate here so I am just going to leave it at that.
winter play
Played this in December. Course was in great shape for the season. The views and course layout makes this a must play again golf course.
Good value for the Money
We were there 2 days after Christmas and there was a skeleton staff, (ie) no one working but the starter and the pro shop attendant. Could have used more staff for sure. No cocktail service at the bar.... and beer only--- and must be purchased from the from the pro shop. Hmmmmm.
Awesome place
It was a cold, very windy Christmas day but we had a great time. It was surprisingly busy but we played well under 4 hrs. Conditions were immaculate. This course was recommended as a must-do and lived up to it. I don't think there is a level spot on the course which gives a course "character". I did find myself tiring due to the constant need for accurate shots - not all of them were. Overall a wonderful experience.
spectacular views
The weather was great and the mountain views are beautiful. This is a must play golf course.
Great views and playability
Best views in Tucson. Tee boxes for every golfing level and great conditions. Good price value. My favorite track in Tucson!
scenic play
Play this course often and enjoy it always. Nice views and course layout. Challenging bunkers and green locations. Always helpful staff and practice area is nice. Slopped fairways create a challenge.
Spectacular golf
This has to be one of the most beautiful courses in the world. It's carved into the desert against the Santa Catalina Mountains north of Tucson. You want to stop and take pictures on every hole rather than play. The course is difficult so you need to bring plenty of balls. The fairways are up and down the slopes. Some holes are between beautiful homes.
The course and facilities are all maintained in pristine condition. I didn't eat lunch there but did return that night with my wife for dinner which was wonderful.
the preserve
course is in excelant condition.Staff is friendly. course is challenging and has great views of the Santa Catalina mountains. It was just a great day!
The more scenic golf i played ever
Good chalenge on every hole. You must bring your camera. If you don't have a GPS in your car, the golf course is hard to find. A must to play
Beautiful Day
It was a beautiful day for golf. The course was in good condition but the green speed was a little slow for my preference.
Fair challenge for all levels of golfers
For a desert track, this course doesn't have excessive carries over washes and waste areas like some others in the Tucson area. A few holes require careful placement of your shot, which is difficult to do since the scorecard doesn't show the layout of the hole and the carts don't have GPS. I strongly recommend having a personal GPS if you want to enjoy your round. Several holes have elevation changes, and the wind also comes into play. The fairways were in good condition, but the speed of the greens was inconsistent. The rough was dormant. The practice area was nice and included a chipping area and bunker. I am a female who rarely breaks 100, but even though this course was challenging, it didn't beat me up, and it also proved a challenge for my husband who is a single-digit handicapper.
great fun !
lots of elevation changes, super nice course.will play again soon
BYOB/Strict dress code
The course was nice and the scenery was amazing. There's only one place to get beer and that's in the pro shop before you start and at the turn. You cannot order food to go at the turn from the restaurant, so bring your own snacks. My buddy had a T-shirt under his coat and got turned away, though I can't fault them for this as it's in the rules when you book it. Just mentioning as some courses will let you slide if it's your first time there.
There were deer on the course, so that was pretty awesome as well.
They also made sure to impress on me that it is a semi-private course, but I'm not sure why that point was so important to get across.
views excellent
the course is somewhat difficult but the views are wonderful. the greens were slow but still nice
