Golfer Reviews
Needs help.
Rough is very bald in spots. No beverage cart. Pro shop closes at 2 pm. VERY sparsely staffed.
fun to play
course is challenging but fun to play. tough greens nice views
Course was in good shape for coming out of winter
The course was in good shape for coming out of winter and the fairways and greens were rolling fairly true. The course was in a 1 hour frost delay when I got there and really had not done much to catch up the time by putting the players out quicker or by keeping them moving with the marshall. We only saw the marshall once but the group ahead of us was quite slow.
Great track, $50.00 with cart !!
One of the best courses in the Tucson area. They just need rangers and to control pace of play !!! No beverage cart or snack bar at turn.
Fun!
Challenging front nine. Beautiful views of Catalina mountains
from almost every hole.
Great value.
Great vistas, challenging holes
The Preserve is a great looking course that also supplies a challenge. Many elevated tee boxes but with fair options for different levels. Course was in very good shape from tees to greens.
You definitely need to buy the yardage book and the pro shop should tell you so you can avoid some of the desert trouble not always visible.
My favorite course so far!
Great views, perfect greens, well taken care of, free ice and water machine, super clean restrooms. What courses should look like!
Beautiful views, great site & layout, nice condition.
Very scenic, back nine pristine without houses on it, nice layout.
Condition very good, large rolling greens.
Quite far north no easy route without traffic but worth the trip.
the Preserve
Staff Kaplan was very helpful in returning cart from parking lot. Clubhouse rep was on top of everything when paying and ranger/starter was excellent in the way he made sure we got off on time. Outstanding experience
Great Course but be aware of frost delays
Lovely mountain setting. Reasonable tough, challenging course with some, but not overly long, carries off the tee. Great greens and faiways. Beware the desert cacti. Got a lot tougher when the wind got up.
Not a walking course. We were paired with a carrying walker who managed to keep up but only by rushing, permanently being in front of our shots which is off putting, and arriving noisily at the tee box as someone was teeing off. This detracted somewhat from what should have been a lovely if colder day in the mountain desert
February brought a cold snap that led to a 2 hour frost delay. Fortunately it put a lot of players off and they recovered to only being 30 minutes late at midday.
Great course...perfect day
We play the course a few time every year since 3 years, the conditions are always perfect and our guest so impressed with the quality, the challenge and the views.
It really is a Preserve for Golf!!!
Well, what can I say, this is a course that would be worth playing for twice as much as we paid $46. Thanks GolfNow, this was a great time, plus it was my Birthday which made it even better. There were a lot of bunkers to contend with unless you carry 240-250, but still an excellent round.
A Beautiful and very challenging layout!
The Preserve is a very beautiful and challenging golf course. It rests at the foot of the Catalina Mountains and offers spectacular views throughout the round.
The course features many tee options for the various skill levels of the players. For the first visit I recommend playing the shorter tees as there are numerous holes with ditches that cross the fairway.
Our pace of play was 4.5 hours - mostly caused by the slower play on the difficult holes. It's a challenge, but worth trying.
Deceptive Challenge
Course didn't appear difficult from the clubhouse or yardage on the scorecard, but this was not the case. The rolling, undulating fairways made for a challenging round. Be prepared to play from lots of awkward lies. Also has forced carries and elevation changes. Think it would become easier after playing it a number of rounds. Good mountain views. Excellent condition. Reasonable price for the quality of course.
Beautiful scenery
For long hitters the course has many blind shots with trouble just out of site .
For shorter hitters there are one or two holes that require lay ups.
Course in great shape. Clubhouse excellent .
Great Views
The views alone is worth the price. The course was in great condition, greens were fast and well manicured. Play was slow but the views were great. This is a perfect time to play this course.
gorgeous views
my favorite course due to the location and price for the quality of the golf course
5 1/2 hours to play is a long time on the course.
Disappointed in entire staff from front desk to Ranger attitude. Use to more of a Resort welcome. Very unfriendly staff from Pro shop to Ranger's. Old saying...You get what you pay for!
Awesome Picture of the Sixth Green Hawker.
