Really great course
Beautiful course and a fantastic value at $26 for a 12:54pm tee time. I have played many of the high end courses in AZ and this is right up there. Great layout with a lot of elevation change. There are some blind tee shots from the tips, but I was fortunate enough to play with a couple of local guys. The course was in fantastic condition with the exception of slightly slower and longer greens, but they are less than a month off of overseed so it is understandable. (When I say slightly slower and longer, I mean VERY slightly slower and longer, they still play better than most greens in the Tucson area. Fantastic views, pristine conditions, even saw some deer and a few cows! Really great experience and I will be back soon!
One of the best in the Tucson area
Fine course with great views of the mountains. Beautiful hole locations and excellent condition for this time of year. Would play here regularly if it was closer to our home.
Fabulous course with great layout with varying holes.
The course and the restaurant are fabulous (restaurant staff great). We found the proshop staff a bit cool and especially the starter to be somewhat unfriendly. Perhaps the proshop should inform players to report directly to the starter and that the starter is not located at the first tee. Occasional players do not know this routine and perhaps the starter would not be so unpleasant and assuming we arrived late (which was not the case). Better communication of this point would make it a more pleasant experience. Otherwise, we love the overall package here!!
Great Course With Wonderful Catalina Mountain Views
Course requires good shot making and ability to carry ball to green. No bounce and run. Great condition fairways & Greens. Bunkers a bit suspect with very heavy sand.
Beautiful coourse
An excellent course with beautiful scenery and well maintained. My only suggestion is to put prisms on the flagsticks to assist players with laser range finders. The flags are very difficult to pick up from any distance without the prisms.
Challenging course with great views.
Course was generally in good shape. Several holes had some standing water problems, but I am guessing this is temporary. Clubhouse staff was just cordial... you can tell they treat members better than golfnow tee times. Most holes offer great mountain views. Course is challenging with most holes requiring a fairly accurate tee shot - desert awaits everywhere. Greens were receptive but a little on the slow side. Overall - good experience but better play it now... prices go up in December.
very nice course, good shape, great views
playing the preserve is always a great experience, nice test, good views, always in good shape
beautiful scenary. Good condition. Well laid out
This is my favorite course in Tucson. However, the lady who checked us in was rude, gave us the worse cart, and acted like as Golf Now customers we were like stand-by fliers. "We have 'golfers' out there," she said in response to question about going off 5 minutes before t-time. Rude, rude, rude.
perfect conditions and very well manicured
This is one of the best courses in Southern Arizona, period!
Great Foothills style course
Great setting, beautiful views. Each hole is different. You use all your clubs.
This is a unique course-fun and challenging--great views
The Preserve is one of my favorite courses to play in the area. It is a little bit of a drive from the South/East side of Tucson but the new Twin Peaks cut off to Tangerine saves some time. The course has lots of elevation chamges--two fun par threes and a down hill par 5 that makes you think before you hit. The clubhouse is nice--closes early-but its a short drive to the Keg at Oracle and Tangerine.
The views are great. This a difficult course.
The rough was very thin, dry and dying. It is in desparate need of water,as it will continue to get worse without.
Great course. Wide range of tee distance. Beautiful vistas.
Played in the afternoon and pace was very slow. The course is in great shape with winter grass coming in. Greens are challenging.
awesome but slow
need a marshall, otherwise fantastic. I would highly recommend
Beautiful layout, very challenging.
This is a very challenging golf course. There are many ways to lose several balls, and yet the views somehow soothe the anxiety. This is an excellent place to take an out-of-town visitor.
Well-maintained
The Preserve is in excellent shape and well-maintained. It is challenging and yet fair. It was a very enjoyable experience for me.
Great deal
Nice course. A bit difficult for the first time as it requires some knowledge of layup positions etc. A bit out of the way but the facilities are great. Mountain views to die for. Course had just been overseeded for the Fall so the greens were very slow. But at the price it was worth the drive. Hard to beat.
Great venue. Course knowledge can save you strokes.
The course was in very good shape for just having come out of overseeding. Some areas of the course were soggy due to excessive water still being used to make sure the new seeds would germinate. Greens were very slow as to be expected. Some bunkers appeared to have excessive amounts of sand in them. And I mean wet thick sand, 6-8 inches deep. Give the course a couple more weeks and it will be a pristine venue to challenge your golf skills.
Worth playing for the setting itself, let alone a very nice course.
The course was recently over-seeded and in good shape for this time of year. We had 3 golfers of various skill levels and all had a great day. The setting and facilities are outstanding. The holes are well laid out and views incredible.
The description of the course in the booking preamble is accurate.
This course is well worth playing and it is one we play every time we are in Tucson.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course and surroundings. Great condition except greens are a little long. Probably due to overseeding. Fee for practice balls is unreasonable. $2.00 for 16 balls!!
