Golfer Reviews
Fantastic layout
The only dissapointment was the weather. It was cold and raining quite a bit.The course in my opinion has an exceptional layout.Playing with the natural contours of the land allows for an array of different shots. There is a mix of elevation changes. The staff is very friendly.I have already booked to play this course again with nicer weather and will be playing it again and again. You cannot get better value than playing this course at the current rates.Even better value when booking on GolfNow.
Great layout in superb shape
Great layout in superb shape. An awsume course....on of my favorite courses in southern Arizona. I play it every time I'm in the area. Only improvement I can think of is the addition of 150 yard barber poles.
the course is great shape
it rained the whole time i played and the course was in good shape the whole round will good drainage
It's a definite play
Course in very good condition. Beautiful desert and mountain views. Challenging but fair. Helpful , friendly staff. Nice comfortable pace 4 hr 20 min.
beautiful course, excellent condition
This is a beautiful course set against the Catalina's with some interesting elevation changes. The greens are large and in great shape. The sand traps are well placed and also in good shape. If you can get a good rate, don't miss it.
Over all course condition, very good.
Really enjoyed the course. It is in good condition, fairways and greens. Late in the afternoon greens were a little bumpy. They have had several days of frost delays, making it difficult to keep greens perfect.
Good time overall
I enjoy playing this course when I can - it is my favorite of all the Saddlebrooke courses. Had a 1 hour frost delay, which was surprising. Lucky enough to be paired with a good group who played from the same tees.
Good layout but slow play with no course marshalling
I've played at The Preserve GC about 10-15 x now and travel over 1 hour to do so. The layout and views are very nice but I was disappointed this time. Three back nine greens were not mowed and for a weekend, this is poor and inexcusable. We noticed several bunkers were in poor shape. There was a frost delay so the course was busy but there were no course marshalls (proshop closed at 3 PM) and 2 groups held up the pace of play. We finished right at 5 hours. Needs improvement for me to visit them again on a weekend. Restaurant/bar is always very good and a must for after the round.
At $40 a good buy
The course has great views, the fairways were good, the greens were bumpy and a little slower that others around here. Pace of play was very good.. This was the first time I played the course and we had a frost delay. I don't think they mowed the greens, maybe because of the frost delay. I enjoyed the course and will go back again.
Great course with a wonderful view!
Great course with a wonderful mountain view! Challenging enough, friendly staffs, I wanna play in the course as much as I can.
The course is a good layout.
Recent frost delays have left greens a bit bumpy but understanding this the course played good and was fun.
First timers to The Preserve should invest in the yardage book for info on lay ups at a number of holes.
Challenging but Friendly
A lot of the fairways slope frome one side to the other. A drive down the middle does not mean it will be there when you arive. Greens are similar. Although the course is challenging, it does not provide too many "pro only" shots. The scenery is great and my wife agreed that it is lady friendly. Good value and we would return.
Fun course, staff was not overly welcoming but they were able to accommodate.
It was a fun course although it is a retirement community course and the members were not very nice. I was paired with a 3some and 2 of our members were in their 70's and took some time to tee off and the members playing behind us were rude and pushy.
Fun & Challenging to Play
The Preserve is a fun and challenging layout. Some local knowledge is a real benefit, as placement is more important than length on some holes.
Course was in very good condition, and the staff was quite friendly.
Only complaint is that pace of play was a little slow.
Overall, The Preserve provides one of the best values for golf in the Tucson area.
One of our favorite courses we played in Tucson, in great shape!
We played over 7 of the top courses in 7 days in Tucson area. The Preserve was one of our favorites. The course is tough, but it plays "fair". We will definitely go back again to the Preserve. We really liked how immaculate the fairways and greens were.
