Verde River Golf & Social Club
About
Verde River Golf & Social Club (formerly known as Tegavah Golf Club and Vista Verde Golf Course) has a desert style layout that features panoramic views of Four Peaks, the Superstition Mountains, Weaver's Needle, and the Tonto National Forest. In addition to the scenery, the golf course also presents interesting challenges such as subtle contours and desert wasteland areas that guard the holes. The greens lead to generous landing areas that require precision and length. Although only one water hazard comes into play on one hole, there are several sand bunkers strategically situated throughout. Verde River Golf & Social Club offers five sets of teeboxes to offer suitable challenges for players of all skill levels and abilities.

course needs proper facilities
The course is in the open and really needs washroom facilities
There is not a single chair, where you can sit down before or after the game
It would've been nice to have sat down with the three stranger I was teamed up with a, just to thank them over a drink.
Golf as it was meant to be played
Great golf course in a "community" that never got built. The course was developed in 2006/2007 just before the economy tanked and the real estate part of this development still hasn't progressed. That being said, the course is unecombered by houses, stop signs or other resort course distractions. The backdrop on many holes is gorgeous. The course was in country club condition with well manicured teel boxes, fairways and well rolling greens. Only one water hole on the course (#18) and very playable for my wife. We thouroughly enjoyed this course .
Very nice course, great layout and challenge.
Nice course to discover. Probably the best secret, because it's not completly finished, there is no club house and no facilities, but the course by itself is anough, worth the trip!
Great tract and layout. Hurry with the clubhouse construction.
I will definitely play this course again. Fairways and greens are plush on 90% of the course. Golf carts are in poor condition because many hole does not have paved cart paths. Really dusty playing. Great mountain scenery all 18 holes
Great Value
Got a Hot Deal from golf now to check out this newer course in Rio Verde. Great views on every hole of the four peaks, well taken care of course, it's not troon north but for the price it's a great way to spend an afternoon.
Great views
Best views in Phoenix; stunning course in the middle of nothing in regard to civilization.
Exceptionnal
One of the best in PHX !!! A must in an incrédible location.
Wont regret...
Great course, good value
Course is in excellent shape. Mountain views are spectacular. The greens are good speed and putt true. Tees are set for all handicap levels. Will definitely be back.
Great conditions, great course.
Played Viste Verde, Southern Dunes, Quintero on vacation in Scottsdale. Course in great shape, flatter layout compared to the other 2 courses I played but nevertheless a fun course to play.
For a course like this in the middle of nowhere the conditions were very good.
Played course before a couple of times. Beautiful dry/warm day in the desert and the course was fun and challenging. Some of the holes are very tough to par and some are easy. A nice mix for a public course.
No fluff just great golf.
Tough coarse in great condition. Beautiful views. No club house. Parking in gravel lot. Good practice facilities.
We always enjoy our rounds here, worth the 1 hour drive
We were late but the staff happily got us going right away we hope to get back soon.
Beautiful vistas
Snagged a great value of $39 per player. Couldn't have been more pleased.
Great course, hidden!
The property has been laid out for huge community with multiple houses. So far they have only build two due to the economy crashing 4 years ago. Now the focus is all on the course and it shows. Great fairways, nice rough and well maintained greens.
Had a lot of fun and would go back anytime!
Range and practice area also allow for extensive sessions if you want to improve your game. Free ball at the range!
Course was in great shape.
Definitely worth the price. Reminded me of other high-end courses in the Scottsdale area. Played in 4 hours while the friendly staff kept play moving.
Nice layout, challenging, but course rangers tend to be pushy.
Nice golf course. Well maintained with challenging, fast greens. Overall it's a nice place to play but the course rangers are a bit too authoritarian. They warned us when we got 2 minutes behind pace even though we finished the round in less then their suggested 4 hours and 30 minutes. Consequently we felt rushed to finish which detracted from the enjoyment of the day.
Beautiful setting
Great course! Pretty challenging course...even if you hit the greens three putting is never out of the question! I love the scenery here and I will definitely be back. Also a super value! I think comparable layouts and quality are priced about $130 and up. The drive was worth it
GEM!
tear this twi-light rate up! This place is awesome for 55 bucks in the land of 200 plus for a decent course. Not to many blind shots! So this is a good desert golf track without guessing whats around the corner. GREAT TRACK, staff was courteous.
Great day of golf!
If the course seems a bit lengthy try the Silver/Copper combination shown on the scorecard.
Well worth the drive from Phoenix
A bit of a drive to get out to Vista Verde, but well worth the drive once you get there.
There may be 5 homes on this entire course, which means the sights are untouched. The mountains serve as a backdrop for many shots.
The greens were quick, but true.
The rest of the course mixed it up quite well. Some holes were wide and forgiving, others made you think about playing more of a target golf type of game. A very nice mix.
Best of Scottsdale Package
They did the same thing to my group. Started us 5 minutes late, then warned us at hole 4 we were 3 minutes behind. They then made us skip hole 10 because we were 5 minutes behind. (On pace had they started us on time.) They told us we could play hole 10 after we completed 18, then when that time came they said they were too busy and we wouldn't be able to play hole 10. 1 hour drive, 4 people paid for a full round, only played 17 holes. Oh, and we finished in 4 hours. AHEAD of pace.
