Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Fun & Friendly Golf
We live very close to Lakeside and haven’t played here for several months. The word is out that there have been significant improvements to the course condition so we gave it another try today. We were certainly pleasantly surprised and enjoyed both the golfing and the dinner and drinks afterwards.
Nice course
I thought the course has a nice mix of holes offering differing challenges. The pace of play was smooth and allowed you to maintain your rythem of play.
Course is shaping up
The fairways have been smoothed out and not as bumpy as they were last month. The greens are filling in well also. Cart paths are still in poor shape. Tee boxes have also improved.

Great price poor condition
Great price for some swing practice and played 18 in three hours. Course is in very rough shape especially greens … great place to take new players, those out for a fun day only, or kids

Course needs lots of work, could be a fine place to play.
