About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Overall, I like this course. Good layout. Nothing to difficult, still need to put the ball in a good position. Most greens in good condition; fairways are pretty good, just a few spots needing work. Staff are very helpful and friendly. There is a starter and a beverage cart that travels the course. For the price, it is a good value. I do recommend you visit.
The course was in terrible condition. The grounds themselves in poor condition. Bathrooms on the course looked abandoned. Would not pay $24.00 for 9 holes ar this course again.
Overall
Bunkers can be scary, sometimes hard as a rock others raked and maintained. Greens have some issues. It's playable
Decorating conditions
Used to play here from time to time, was not impressed my previous visits a few months ago and even more disappointed this past week. Will not return again until it has new owners/management.
Fun course but thin fairways.
Fairways are a little thin in areas, and greens are really fast. But interesting layout with lots of dogleg.
This course has made major improvements since new ownership
Greens, tee boxes and fairways are in great shape. New location for clubhouse is so much nicer.
Staff is always friendly from check in to starter to bartender!

Course really good condition compared to other courses in the area. You can see they a lot of effort has been put in to make what it is today.

Fairways are defined. Plenty of grass to play off of. Better than many of the courses that a rated higher. Greens are coming in. They still have room for improvement.
All I can say is if you don’t see the improvement, that’s too bad. But for those of us that do what a great place to play.
