About
Located less than an hour from Tampa and Orlando, LakeSide Golf & Country Club in Inverness has a unique and scenic setting with four holes that play around an abandoned phosphate mine. The challenging layout will test you with long par 5s and a slew of doglegs. Unlike some of the flatter, marshier golf courses you'll find throughout Florida, this layout has rolling, wide open fairways and large, undulating greens. Be prepared for more than 50 strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greens in addition to well placed smatterings of tall oaks and pines. The rough can also be very punishing if you're errant. There are some challenging holes but it's not overly daunting; beginners and casual golfers will still enjoy the golf course. There is also a driving range available at LakeSide Golf & Country Club.

Great value
Rough looked like it getting ready for the US Open but greens are looking better and the greens were receptive. You’ve come a long way from where you were.
Starting to slip??
Still much better than it was last year this time. But the rough was getting shaggy and the greens require some attention. And you know what they say, why are you worried about the rough if you stay in the middle of the fairway.
Still best bang for the buck in Citrus County.
Good course to play
Sometimes a little outdated, but for midsize golfer like me is this a nice course.0
Two words for consideration...time management! What a joke! To have so called "groups" starting on every hole all the while starting pre-booked tee times, well done. Secondly, hire adequate help. Your attempt employing a pro-shop employee and or ranger is a complete failure too. Lastly, course conditions...cow pasture with seven out of eighteen playable greens, abysmal at best. Save your money and play put put somewhere else. You can thank me latter.
Another afternoon 9
The course layout is really good. The condition is good on the fairways, greens, and tee boxes. The staff is very friendly. Carts are in good shape and the pro shop has just enough to supply the round's needs. The bar manager and her bar staff are very helpful and friendly. Although I haven't eaten, the remarks we've heard and the presentation both were good. Wil be back after work at least twice this week and a full 18 next weekend.
Unorganized nightmare
The course was as it normally is playable with a decent layout. This Sunday afternoon was a mess, had people waiting extended time for their turn to go. The course ranger was giving players one set of directions while some “big mike” who seemed to be cluelessly running things giving entirely different directions. People skipping holes and shotgunning all over. I will say the course is a great place to play a round just avoid Sundays.
Just a typical old Florida horse great layout. Some fairways a little bear and greens overall pretty good shape, for the money I'll definitely play again
Bad Course
The course was in poor condition. Tee boxes were spotty. The greens were in poor condition. Sand traps were full of water. The fairways were in poor condition. Cart pathways were in poor condition. I would not recommend this golf course. The bathroom sinks did not have any water. The parking lot was in poor condition. Most of the out buildings were in need of repairs.
